    A Deep Dive into the 2024 D&D Player's Handbook

Agree, having looked at it. My original question was whether it's possible to keep track of what the author related: "I've already noticed that D&D Beyond has begun posting errata to correct poor phrasing and glitches" I still haven't figured out where that errata is posted, if anywhere.

    D&D (2024) Overthinking Long Rest in 2024

Basically a latte with a higher ratio of coffee to milk, and less of a 'froth head'. I guess that's where the "flat" comes from. You can ask for one in Starbucks these days, so I guess we are approaching some kind of coffee singularity.

It doesn’t seem to capture phrasing changes/corrections to specific text (spells, rules etc) as I’d expect to see from a traditional errata. Unless I missed something.

And Australia’s coffee tradition is Italian, though I guess inventing the flat white is enough to claim your own identity. I’m an Aussie-born American who lived 5 years in Seattle and goes back there regularly. Seattle has its own coffee culture of which Starbucks is some kind of weird mutated...

D&D (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

I’d always thought of the run from Neverwinter to Waterdeep as being the fantasy equivalent of “popping down to the shops”. Then I realized the scale.. it’s like 450 miles?! I think the maps, great as they are, give a false sense of scale.

There you go, being subjective again. We're back to square one :-)

    D&D (2024) Overthinking Long Rest in 2024

Yep, these rules, like any rules I guess, are a simplifying abstraction and I am AOK with that. If I want more granularity in my rules I can always crack open the 1e Wilderness Survival Guide and deal with Weakened vs Fatigued vs Distressed vs Incapacitated vs Exhausted. I guess the 2024 rules...

    D&D (2024) Overthinking Long Rest in 2024

You sleep for at least 6 hours.. After you finish a Long Rest, you must wait at least 16 hours before starting another one. I had a late night, didn’t get to sleep until 2am. Slept 6 hours, waking at 8am. For the rest of my life, I guess can’t get a Long Rest unless I go sleep after midnight...

And all of them are a function of the amount of beer ingested prior. Including also beer.

D&D (2024) Do players really want balance?

I feel like we should perma-link to this when the next inevitable, interminable discussion about whether the art in the 2024 PHB is “good” or not shows up. #banana-peel

D&D (2024) Do players really want balance?

I agree with your take generally, but I wouldn’t try to correlate artwork value with beauty. It’s basically a speculative market and as much a function of the artist than the art, AFAICT.

D&D (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

Wow. I’d known this was an anger-inducing module among Gygax loyalists but hadn’t read it. Having listened recently to the “When we were wizards” podcast I recognize a bunch of these references and wonder about the thoughts ( resentments?) going on in Breault‘s (the editor’s) mind. His CV show a...

Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks Coming to America via Steve Jackson Games

I got this from a recent kickstarter. Serious nostalgia fuel. It was my gateway into D&D.. and much of the art has stood up really well over time!
