Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana: Psionics!

maybe that is because default d&d does not have psionics. And psionics kind of has the same effects as magic. Its the same thing entirely to most people.

Star Trek: The Captain Poll (and general discussion, I guess)

It will always be the one and only William Shattner.

    D&D Movie/TV New D&D movie details? Vecna?!

Glow in the dark in the fantasy underdark is like a sign that says come eat me. Still cool though.

D&D General Toril must be a Super Earth.

The only thing I need to know is what is toril’s gravity. and how much would I be able to lift and how far could i jump If i took a portal to Oerth. Also how fast could I run. Because I am thinking of creating a character on faerun and hopping a gate to either oerth or Mars.

D&D 5E How Often Do You Use Grids?

That’s cool. I keep wondering when the day will come that the VTT will be indistinguishable from a video game.

D&D General Which standard classes have you never (or very rarely) seen played? (Edited)

Druids were judges, healers, arbiters, political advisors, seers, and lore keepers. That’s what I tell players when I DM.

D&D General Which standard classes have you never (or very rarely) seen played? (Edited)

i Dont mind these things for certain campaigns called “kitchen sink”. But there is also nothing wrong with settings where monk skills can only be learned through the monastic tradition. They are more than brawlers. They are disciplined to have many mystic powers also. It almost cheapens them to...

D&D General Which standard classes have you never (or very rarely) seen played? (Edited)

I have no trouble saying monks are Kung-fu fighters that live in monasteries in any fantasy setting. They are monks, they like monasteries and king-fu. It’s a beautiful thing.

Oh For Pete sake. We all know that Orcs are the d&d equivalent of Klingons. And Klingons are great warrior invaders with an evil empire.

    D&D Movie/TV New D&D movie details? Vecna?!

I think Scandinavian dark elves actually just referred to them living underground in the dark rather than necessarily being dark skinned. And depending on who is translating they were elves or dwarves. I think we are referring to the svartalfar. Not an expert on this. These seem to be vary by...

D&D General How To Reconcile the Settings

I can’t believe how long it has been since planescape was published. I use it so much. I most reference a few tables these days and do my own thing. I would kill to see this setting updated but with more advanced technology, at least on mechanus with the modron.

D&D General How To Reconcile the Settings

If I remember correctly. The way tieflings were originally presented their fiendish heritage was back so many generations that they didn’t even know what type of fiend it came from. I may be wrong on that. But I think most did not know what species of fiend they came from.

D&D General How To Reconcile the Settings

I thought about that a lot. And I was almost wondering if that was a new species emerging if I wanted to get Darwinian. And that was a cool concept that intrigued me. Asmodeus creating a race in his own image. And it also made most tieflings on the realms the same. Less variety. They are still...

D&D General How To Reconcile the Settings

I definitely see that perspective. It’s just that small minority was way more present and diverse in planescape.
