Average income of a social class?

The RPGA adventures have this information in the little intro included with each, actually. I don't know if that stuff is legal to simply post up here. I use it in my games. I'm assuming you're going for 3.x/PF as well. I don't know how wealth compares between 3.x and 4e.

    Upset over incompatible gaming styles?

There was a topic about the stinky gamer around here earlier this summer or spring, I think. This topic brings to mind an experience one of my friends had recently. His group finally kicked out a player who had been with them for about 20 years--just an all around troubled guy who often behaved...

WoTC to hire new Director of Brand Marketing for D&D

Hasn't that position been up for a while? I think I checked their jobs page once before I realized that there was really no way I'd be living on the West Coast. Most of the open positions this summer at WotC and Hasbro seemed geared towards mktg, with the exception of Hasbro moving a chunk of...

Owning multiple copies of RPG books

I've accidentally acquired multiples, but aside from getting some .pdfs of my hard copy books, I've never done it intentionally. I have 3 3.x PHBs, 2 3e DMGs, 2 Unearthed Arcanas, and 2 Complete Mages. Woops! One of the 3e DMGs was a mix-up at a tabletop game I used to attend, but we could never...

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

Totally awesome. I like the development of this god-afterlife. Were the sand guardians custom, re-skinned, or from a book?

    RPG Production bible design/writing tips

The best advice I've received on putting your bible together is to: 1. Keep it simple. 2. Keep it organized. Don't indulge in visual gimmicks and gags. Write clearly. Use illustrations when necessary. Make sure you have a strong grasp on grammar and style; a guide can be useful for anyone, no...

Planescape Solo Campaign with Mythic Game Master Emulator

Hey, this is pretty cool. I've never heard of the Mythic GME. So, it's a PDF you refer to to see what to do next? (Also, small storyhours represent! ;D)

    Logos: The Golden Path

I'm several sessions behind in making logs, but I nevertheless have a nice buffer again. Since I have a lot of catching up to do, I may as well update again and resume my Saturday-ish posts! Most of our sessions so far have been played with 3 out of 4 players available. As long as I have at...

What's stopping WOTC from going back to 3.5?

I don't want to further derail the topic, so I'm dropping this. If you want to continue our dictionary slap-fight, let's do it over PM.

What's stopping WOTC from going back to 3.5?

Just because they lay off regularly doesn't mean this lay off isn't related to the recession, is what I'm saying. "Unique" also means "not typical; unusual" and "having no like or equal." I think a recession fits the bill.

What's stopping WOTC from going back to 3.5?

I didn't say that this recession is unique. I wrote that "a recession" is a unique economic environment; that is, it's unlike other economic environments--not exactly a keen insight, but worth being pointed out. I'm also well aware of the history of recessions we've had in the U.S. I have no...

What's stopping WOTC from going back to 3.5?

Also, from a marketing perspective, re-releasing a recent-but-discontinued product when you still plan to invest in and develop a current product doesn't make sense when you are reasonably certain that the re-release would simply cut in to your current market share rather than expand it. You're...

    JollyDoc's Serpent's Skull-updated 11/6/2011

Ah, I finally caught back up! I am very much enjoying this crew, JollyDoc. :)

What's stopping WOTC from going back to 3.5?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to do a factual, rigorous financial analysis of WotC. Hasbro does not provide the disaggregated financial reports of their subsidiary for the asking. (I tried.) However, Hasbro itself is doing quite well. I would be skeptical of any information regarding WotC's...

    Paladin moral delima

I don't think I said anything that materially contradicts this. As for Star Wars, it's a franchise spanning several decades; any hope of consistent narrative voice is futile. I thought the example might be useful nonetheless.

Taking 20 in Use Rope - Bind a Character

According to the PHB, pg. 73, Escape Artist: Does being bound and unattended equal active or passive opposition? I would rule it's passive. On the other hand, I do prefer a roll off in the situation of tying up a captive who later tries to escape; intuitively, I just feel it's more "fair."...

Missed the old D&D computer games?

GoG actually does a lot of the patching themselves in order to make these older games functional with newer OSs. The Escapist : Everything Good Old is New Again Pretty interesting behind the scenes look at GoG.

    Paladin moral delima

@haakon1 I'd like-like yours, too, but I've already hit you recently, it seems, and I've been a bit too polyamorous with my XP today as it is! ;D I'll add some content... In practice, most characters and organizations labeled with such and such alignment are going to behave inconsistently...

Alignment Question - Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Evil?

It's unfair to say that since the game takes place in a fantasy world, any reliance on real-world norms and mores is out the window. Unlawful conduct may not be evil conduct: sit-ins are an example. Likewise, evil conduct is not necessarily unlawful. Nevertheless, there are actions which are...
