D&D 5E Remove stat bonus from damage

Ability scores are one of the (the) cornerstones of this edition (attacks, checks, saving throws, DCs, etc), I doubt they will take away modifiers completely. Expertise dice are what's trivialising Dex/Str mod to damage.

so how often do you go above 10th level?

I started a 3rd level 3rd Ed Planescape campaign in 2005, got to 13th level by 2008, switched over to 4th Ed, got to 17th level by 2010, and is now on hiatus. But aside from that, it would seem many campaigns peter out before 10th level.

    Soldiers of the Blood War

Yes, I am pleased at the mention of yugoloths (and the Blood War), and would have liked him to elaborate just a tad, they didn't get the same treatment as the demon and devil. And agree succubus should be a demon, especially considering Malcanthet has her own abyssal layer. I like the use of...

D&D 5E Remove stat bonus from damage

I can see ditching ability modifiers to damage, what with Expertise dice; monsters attacks would be like pre-3rd Ed (1d6/1d6/1d8 or what-have-you).

D&D 5E Warforged, Changelings, and Thri Kreen in the PHB?

I believe thri-kreen exit in FR (they go back to the 1st Ed MM2). As for kitchen sink, I have a Planescape campaign of 7 years, and the players can pretty much choose anything (so far the party has had drow, human, gnome, aasimar, half-orc, thri-kreen, dwarf, genasi, elf...

So that's it for 4th edition I guess?

Where is the source for this?

D&D 5E Warforged, Changelings, and Thri Kreen in the PHB?

    All races are campaign specific.

D&D 5E A quick fix to improve the Monk's flexibility.

So, is Expertise dice the only way to express non-casters?

    D&D 5E 11 spell levels... really

In the 1st playtest packet it looks like spells are going to 7.

    What's The Best Monster Book?

I do like the size comparison of monsters in CoC.

    What's The Best Monster Book?

It's an opinion, please don't be rude, and I still disagree with your opinion (about pretty much everything, always). The 2nd Ed Monstrous Manual is a great book, though.

D&D 5E More maneuvers at low level.

Unfortunately I really dug Expertise Dice (manoeuvres) at first, but now they are becoming a tad gimmicky; and I am worried about bloat.

    D&D 5E Maybe I'm just tired?

Aside from the mess classes currently are, I am digging 5th Ed like no edition before (well, save 1st, but that's biased).

    D&D 4E Viability of a flatter math 4e campaign?

Yes, after running about seven 4th Ed sessions or so I carved out the 1/2 level bonus to all character's and monster's Attacks, Defences and Skills like a cancerous growth, game runs so much better (monsters a threat over a wider range). Inherent bonuses are also good.

    D&D 5E Attacks per round.

Yes, keep extra attacks and manoeuvres, but drop Expertise dice could be a way to go.

    Playtesting in Detail

Yes, not sure why he would mention both in the same sentence, and the cavalier is not nearly as core as the paladin and half-orc (or bard, druid and monk). I am pleased that he mentions the old Rules Cyclopedia being a big influence.

D&D 5E Is multiple actions per rounds a good idea?

Yes, and really goes with the spirit of bounded accuracy (and maybe damage now, if they remove ability modifiers to damage), and I would say Expertise slows down combat more than an extra attack.

    D&D 5E Attacks per round.

Yeah, and really goes with the spirit of bounded accuracy (and maybe damage now, if they remove ability modifiers to damage), and I would say Expertise slows down combat more than an extra attack.

    D&D 5E Attacks per round.

I dig extra attacks, and think 3 a is a good max number, my only reservations about Expertise/Manoeuvres is it starting to feel a tad gimmicky and potential bloat.

D&D 5E Warlord as a Fighter option; Assassin as a Rogue option

Yep, being primitive does make you angry, if they desperately need a separate rage class, go with berserker.
