    D&D 5E Monk's Catch Missile Ability

So... basically if a Monk can reduce the damage from a missile to 0 or less, the monk can catch the missile and throw it back as a monk weapon, with all relevant proficiencies and damage dice adjusting accordingly. i.e a dagger's d4 damage die could go up to d6, or even d10. and even if they...

D&D 5E please help me develop this memorable scene (and reward)

Yup, totally agree. I did say the additional damage was for later upgrades ;) Oh, if you wanted a minor effect, maybe it detects the presence of *insert monster type which family slays here*... perhaps minotaurs or whatever the undead boss fight you planned to have here.

D&D 5E banning Create Food & Water spell in Thule?

The campaign I'm currently in makes divine classes very rare. The regular populace shun them because of a cataclysm that happened which people blame the gods for abandoning them, so that suited our campaign well. So even if you play a cleric or paladin, you would not receive the usual boons and...

D&D 5E Magic Weapon Made Pact Weapon Morphing

Incidentally, could you bind a ranged magical weapon? Like an Enchanted bow for example? The text clearly states you can only create melee weapons, but no limitation on binding a magical weapon as long as it isn't an artifact or sentient. Purely musing out loud here, especially since Eldritch...

    D&D 5E House Rules - magic healing

Basically set all the bones and hold the parts together prior to the healing. Magical healing speeds up the healing process and magically cures poisons/diseases. A broken bone will be healed... but crooked if you didn't do it right. Even in real life, some doctors need to break bones in order...

    D&D 5E HE Warlock

I would swap your CON stat for DEX, helps your AC and boosts quite a few proficiencies. As a fiendlock, you can get more temp HP from killing enemies and Armor of Agathys works well in the interim as well. As for the background, why not follow the PHB's suggestion to create one that you like...

D&D 5E please help me develop this memorable scene (and reward)

Personally with the throw and return power for now Maybe add Thunder damage or something at later upgrades due to the Stormwind feel Basically a reskinned Icebrand or Flametongue but for Thunder/Lightning damage/resistance.

D&D 5E please help me develop this memorable scene (and reward)

Well, I've seen people get mighty attached to their weapons that they've even rejected weapons that were technically better. So a constantly upgrading weapon has a certain appeal and draw, especially seeing as you've introduced it as some sort of family heirloom.

D&D 5E please help me develop this memorable scene (and reward)

I'm thinking combine a few ideas. 1) Party goes for the quest to the Crypt, battles undead, sees a statue with open hand. (Greataxe is a key) 2) Secret door to tomb opens but the Greataxe is returned without the door closing. 3) Puzzles and challenges leading up to boss fight (Minotaur) 4)...

D&D 5E banning Create Food & Water spell in Thule?

Sure, the gods in that realm aren't supplying those spells. Just make sure that the same penalties apply to NPCs and you're good. So... desperate people will come and try to scavenge food from the PCs too :p

D&D 5E Counterspell vs Dispel Magic

What if you're a Warlock or a Bard and can only pick one? i.e: It's not in your list of Spells that you can Prepare and Switch every long rest?

Which would you choose if you could only pick one?

    D&D 5E Let's talk about Witches

I'd say a Bard Warlock MC. The whole Charm, Enthrall, and Pact with some Power.

D&D 5E Carrion Crawler Queen lair

Well, Paralyze is by far the most debilitating condition to be in. Incapacitate --> Stun --> Paralyze in the order or danger. Well, if it's a hard fight to be giving your players then that's definitely going to work :p. Keep in mind the Poisoned condition will be making all checks and attack...

D&D 5E Carrion Crawler Queen lair

I'm assuming the party has to wade thru the liar and won't face the Carrion Queen unharmed. Only the Cleric and Paladin have healing options, and the Paladin is limited to 10 HP via Lay on Hands. So unless a Long Rest is possible right before boss encounter (not likely in a Liar), or almost...

D&D 5E Carrion Crawler Queen lair

Damage of each Tentacle? And the to Hit bonus? lt seems the Queen can hit the entire Party every round with Multi attack, that does not let them ever heal up, and they're still squishy at level 2. Drop the Multiattack to 3 or maybe even 2 attacks. That's what the summoned minions are for, to...

    D&D 5E The paladin conundrum

Ehh, if you had some reason story wise to have a king poisoned, I see no reason why THAT poison should not be special and out of his class ability to heal. For example, the poison may be caused by magic, the Paladin can heal the poison, but the Spell is an insidious one which slowly emits MORE...

D&D 5E Bardic Lore: A Basic College of Lore Bard Guide

Hmmm, would Crusader's Mantle be a good pick for Magical Secrets? Seems with all the other classes getting Extra Attacks, Pets, Summons or whatever, the damage potential racks up pretty high? Also, Swift Quiver is a touched based spell and cast on a Quiver... Can it be used on an Ally's Quiver...

D&D 5E dealing with PCs when players leave a game.

Eh... we've always had the PC's just fade into the background when a player can't join. And magically gain sentience again when the player comes back. Of course if the player hasn't been around for a while and doesn't seem to come back, then it just gets dropped off back in town. We actually...

D&D 5E Thoughts on playing Elf in Out of the Abyss [SPOILERS]

Perhaps you're not thinking dark enough... killing someone is the possible end of a cycle, unless said person has relatives/friends who want revenge. In fact, among the Drow, there are prisoners who would rather be killed than be kept alive for the Drow's amusement. These prisoner's would...
