D&D 5E Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse: An In-Depth Review

Wow, can't believe I never realized that!

D&D 5E Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse: An In-Depth Review

I'm also one of those easy marks that has the prior two books and am planning on grabbing this set. I hadn't thought of donating the books that I'd have duplicates of. That's a great idea!

D&D 5E Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse: An In-Depth Review

Totally agree. When you lift the hood of 5e, you can definitely see the parts of 4e they brought over. Prime example: The AEDU powers system was reworked into the long rest/short rest recharge mechanic. Having 5e be more of an advancement of the concepts that 4e introduced, instead of being a...

D&D 5E Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse: An In-Depth Review

As soon as they released the preview during the Wild Beyond the Witchlight livestream event, I immediately recognized the 4e design elements that they're moving towards. As someone who has been a 4e advocate since its release, seeing this shift towards copying that design was supremely vindicating.

Review of the Dungeon Master's Screen Dungeon Kit

I have it, and to be quite honest, it's probably the best screen that has been released for 5e thus far. It is geared more towards dungeon adventures (naturally), but it has much more info and less wasted space than the original or the reincarnated DM screens. I can see switching between the...

Review of the Dungeon Master's Screen Dungeon Kit

Looks like they maybe accidentally copy/pasted their write-up on the Wilderness kit instead of the review for the dungeon kit, since a wilderness kit review was posted on 11/24/20. A simple mix-up, I'm sure.

D&D 5E My Five Favorite Things From The Wild Beyond The Witchlight

Given how much attention Wizards have been giving the cartoon as well as the older toy characters (Warduke, being the prime example) I wonder if a cameo of those characters is already in the book?

D&D 5E Check Out GF9's Witchlight DM Screen

A mix between liking the art, wanting to have a cool visual reminder for my players that we're doing a big campaign, and also the misguided belief that they might've actually made a useful screen. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson and won't be grabbing any more of the GF9 screens.

D&D 5E Check Out GF9's Witchlight DM Screen

I'm not sure I have any great desire (as of now) to run this campaign, but I might grab those maps because the art is wonderful! I have several of the GF9 DM screens, and they're all varying degrees of awful. The information they tend to provide is situational at best, or downright useless at...

D&D 5E Fizban's Treasury of Dragons: Dragon+ Detailed Outline and Descriptions

This is so exciting. This is easily the most hype I've been for a 5th edition book since the release of Eberron.

TSR TSR3 Blames Widespread Pushback On WotC

Seems to me that much of this could have been avoided if they had just marketed 3SR as a "return to RPGs with a wargaming lineage" and focused on being an alternative to narrative-heavy games which have become more popular in recent years. I imagine they'd have found an audience. That they chose...

Welcome to the World of Papercraft

Years ago Games Workshop produced Warhammer Townscape, which was a collection of papercraft buildings that were hand-drawn, and have heaps of character to them. It's definitely worth it to try and track down a copy.

D&D General Win The Title of D&D's Best DM

I'm calling shenanigans on this competition. Everyone knows DMs don't write a damn thing down! The cynic in me is looking at this competition as an ignoble way for WotC to farm the community for content that it won't need to license/pay for.

Marvel to Launch Official 'MARVEL MULTIVERSE' Tabletop Role-Playing Game in 2022

That's true, but sadly there hasn't been anything announced/released in over a year. As far as I'm aware, Disney has been silent about the Star Wars RPG license ever since Fantasy Flight gutted their RPG division. In my mind, with how popular The Mandalorian and their other Disney+ content has...

Planescape Planescape Artist Tony DiTerlizzi Shares Planescape Playlist

Would any kind soul be willing to explain to me why Planescape was so popular back in the day? I've looked through the books in recent years, but I wonder if because I came to the game long after it was released that I'm missing out on what seemed to make it so special and popular with people...

Soulbound Starter Set Unboxing and Overview

It looks very similar to the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay boxed set that Cubicle 7 released last year, and that box set is top notch quality. I may have to give this a look.

    Miniatures that Inspired Character Creations

Fellow mini painter here; Many of my campaigns have been written because I found a cool mini and wanted to find a way to incorporate it into the game. It's a fun challenge trying to find a statblock that best represents the mini.

RPG Evolution: Meet the Bodhana Group

So awesome to see Bodhana get such wide recognition! They do a lot of awesome work here in an area of PA that doesn't usually see a lot of events, because Harrisburg is situated close enough to Philly, Baltimore, and DC that folks usually just make the drive.

RPG Evolution: Gaming for Good with Jasper’s Game Day

I'm a Harrisburg local, and the Bodhana group is very visible in the local TTRPG community here. The past few years they sponsored an October gaming event called Save Against Fear that usually draws a decent crowd. They do a lot of awesome work.

WotC WotC Gets A New Logo?

I get what you're saying. This logo doesn't appear to be an evolution of their first two logos. I suppose one could argue that the light emanating from the center of the word "Wizards" could be an homage to the starburst over the W in the previous two logos. Yet as it is, it looks like it's...
