WotC WotC Gets A New Logo?

My initial reaction is I don't care for it. But that's not because I feel like the logo is bad, but because I have a lot of nostalgic emotion attached to their old logo. I'll be curious to see if they have different versions that are less detailed for certain applications.

D&D 5E New D&D Hardcover To Be Announced On The 23rd (Tomorrow)?

I've often wondered this myself. I was especially disappointed that we didn't see a Witch subclass in Tasha's Cauldron, which would have been absolutely perfect to include in that book. I've seen some suggestions that instead folks should re-fluff the Warlock class, which might work for some...

D&D 5E New D&D Hardcover To Be Announced On The 23rd (Tomorrow)?

Undead are my favorite monsters and one of my go-to creatures when I'm creating a dungeon (the other is Kobolds). Please don't toy with my emotions like this. I'd love it if this is what we got.

D&D General Adam Bradford, Lauren Urban, Todd Kenrick Leave D&D Beyond

Y'know, I've had the same feeling. Seems like there's something in the air.

    In Praise of Dice

re: dice fudging I've always been of the opinion, that fudging roles should only be done in the event that accepting the dice as they rolled would result in a distinct lack of fun, or interesting narrative outcome. Case in point: Recently during a session, all of my players had been rolling...

    In Praise of Dice

I have a cheap yellow d20 that I scraped the ink out of the numbers, so it's very difficult to read. It is the d20 of Shame and is given to players that were late to the session. (All in good fun, of course!)

    D&D 5E What is ARCADIA?

Yes! It was super convenient for me to pop into my local Comic shop and grab the issue. Had to be quick though, it always sold out quickly in my area. As someone who is old enough to have been around for print magazines last hurrah in the mid/late 90's, I truly mourn the diminishing of niche...

    D&D 5E What is ARCADIA?

The return of printed magazines for RPGs really warms my heart. I was devastated when I found out Rolled & Told was going on permanent hiatus. I got so many awesome ideas from that magazine.

D&D 5E The New D&D Book: Candlekeep Mysteries: 17 Mystery Adventures [UPDATED!]

Dungeon Delve was such a useful book. Still is, IMHO. A little bit of extra work to convert things, but it still sees use in my session prep. A proper collection of small one-off encounters built for 5e would be fantastic, if only because it would free up my already scarce free time for game prep.

RPG Print News – Kobold Publishing, Osprey Games, and More

I'm super excited about the new Epic Encounters sets from Steamforged. I have the first two with the kobolds and dragon and they're so well put together. They were a challenge for my group of level 3 PCs. My biggest critique though, is that they say you can pair the adventures together, but the...

Make Deadlier Dungeons With This Book

Give me a break. There have been "crutches" published since the very inception of the game. I guess the "new generation" were struggling through their mediocrity back in the 70's when folks were buying Judge's Guild products to use in their campaign  Not sure why you feel that everyone...

RPG Now in Print News – Free League, Monte Cook Games, Pinnacle, and More

As I was scrolling through the article, I saw the cover for Dishonered and chuckled to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if it was another Modiphius licensed book?" Sure enough, I continued scrolling and saw that it was. At this point, what doesn't Modiphius have the license to?

WotC Drizzt Do'Urden Action Figure Available for Pre-Order

As stated elsewhere in the thread, Drizzt's skin color hasn't exactly been consistent. He's been depicted as brown, grey, jet-black, and purple-ish over the past thirty-odd years. So, which "times" has he been a victim of? The 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's, or 20's?

D&D 5E Kate Welch on Leaving WotC

Agreed. The Choose Your Own Adventure model really works for learning a new RPG. The new Call of Cthulhu box set does this, including step-by-step character creation, and it's really quite nice. Why D&D moved away from it is a little beyond me.

D&D 5E Curse of Strahd 'Revamped' Boxed Collector's Edition

Having the adventure, bestiary, and the guide to the tarokka cards broken into separate booklets really hearkens back to the design of the 4e adventure modules, which had the separate booklets and poster maps. It's definitely something that I like as a DM. The early print runs of the hardcovers...

D&D 5E There's a Platinum Edition of the Icewind Dale Adventure!

Call me a cynic, but I have a hard time believing their business was booming in the first place. Their products, which are without a doubt high-quality, are just too expensive and too niche.

D&D 5E DC Comics Publishing Dungeons & Dragons Sourcebook

I was really happy when I saw Rolled & Told come out. Many people say that print is dying, but as someone who missed the boat on the heyday of Dragon magazine, I was more than happy to support a comic/magazine that was focused on D&D. I love print media and magazines have always been a weird...

D&D 5E Dungeons & Dragons Vs. Rick and Morty: A Review

Having DM'ed the Stranger Things adventure, it almost felt like it was meant to be a self-contained board game. Like, "Here, play the game the kids in the show do but don't worry about actually getting into the hobby."

D&D 5E Here's The Stuff Gale Force 9 Is Releasing For Eberron

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Looking at the photo, it seems to be the same as GF9's other DM screens, which is to say, barely useful. I own both screens that Wizards of the Coast released as well as the Strahd and Mad Mage screens from GF9. The second screen that Wizards put out, the DM Screen...
