D&D 5E Access to a 3D printer? Every monster for free

That article is quite old, he actually has far more done now and it's become his full time job! Here is the recent reddit post he made with the full list of all his freely available models. He has spoken with WotC directly, and as long as the files are posted on Shapeways which apparently...

D&D 5E WotC Confirms Horror-themed Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

It's an odd choice of words when they're clearly aware loads of people know the name - they could have just said "We're here to reveal the brand new adventure", but they specifically called out that no-one knew the title yet.

D&D 5E WotC Confirms Horror-themed Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden

320 pages - on par with Dungeon of the Mad Mage!

D&D General Play the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Demo

The combat was fun, but the camera definitely needs some work. Unfortunately the verticality of the levels that makes the combat more interesting definitely causes some camera issues at the moment. There were also a couple of occasions where the AI path-finding had some of my characters leap off...

D&D 5E Is Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden the New D&D Adventure?

While technically true that's obviously misleading. There's a single scene of exposition by an NPC telling to the campaign premise, before she teleports you to Chult. You don't even really have agency at that point, since if you refuse you don't get to play the game.

D&D 5E Is the new setting Icewind Dale?

I don't know much about Icewind Dale, but i remember Chris talked in a podcast about doing writeups of towns, populations, heraldry, leaders, rivals etc for the gazetteer section in a forthcoming book. Is that the sort of thing that would make sense for an Icewind Dale setting?

D&D 5E Impact of size on Monk's Stunning Blow ability

Your DM should not nerf your core ability without warning or discussion. Whether the nerf was justified or not based on his view of the power of the ability is irrelevant - changes to player abilities should either be made clear to players before the game or AGREED with the players if it...

D&D 5E Jungles of Chult hexcrawl setup

I did notice in my game that because they were all tortles, I got a lot of "Well since I'm from Chult I probably know all about mysterious ancient item/location/npc right?

D&D 5E Jungles of Chult hexcrawl setup

My party decided to all play tortles, so I had them sent on a mission by the village elder who wanted to speak to all her children again before she died. The party started in Port Nyanzaru looking to pick up the trail of the four children they were looking for, and found out the last places...

    D&D 5E Resting in a mega-dungeon?

You need your players to realise they are brave adventurers, not cowards who take a days rest after every 30 second fight. If you're players understand that these mega dungeons rely on parties pushing through several fights in a day to actually challenge them, then that's what they should do if...

D&D 5E Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

Having double checked the rulebook it's not quite as clear cut as I thought, but I stand by my ruling. PHB page 177, Hiding sidebar - "When you try to hide, make a Dexterity (Stealth) check. Until you are discovered or you stop hiding, that check's total is contested by the Wisdom (Perception)...

D&D 5E Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

I think we actually view in the same or similar ways. If someone in my game successfully hides they gain the benefits of being an unseen attacker, but if the enemy saw where they went before they hid then their obvious move is to reposition to a place where they can see the spot they know the...

D&D 5E Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

Sure, I suppose that comes down to each individual GM. I think stealth and hiding in combat must be one of, if not the most debated rules sections because it is left very vague and what rules exist are scattered across three different sections of the book.

    D&D 5E Dragon+ Magazine Issue 31 out now!

I noted they mentioned something about Mythic actions for monsters, and how they have phases - you might think you've killed it, but it gets back up, yells about how this isn't even its final form, and the fight changes dramatically. I'm much more interested to check out this book now!

D&D 5E Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

By the rules, until Enemy A either sees the hidden creature directly or succeeds on a perception check to determine the creature is definitely still there, it is still hidden. It might not make sense in every situation, but it's RAW. After all, If enemy A is looking at me, and I step 5 feet...

D&D 5E Can someone hide from multiple enemies?

To be clear though, an Enemy A just pointing at where someone else is hiding doesn't mean they are no longer hidden to Enemy B. Enemy B would either need to move to a position where they have an unobstructed view of the hidden target or succeed on a perception check as an action against the hide...

D&D 5E Dungeon of the Mad Mage - Boring?

The first two levels of DotMM are definitely less interesting and feel unconnected and sometimes empty. I think they were a little restricted in their design as they felt the need to keep the map exactly the same as the previous edition versions. Once they got past that and had more freedom they...

D&D 5E Here Are The Races In The New Eberron Book

For me, my tolerance to the amount of repeated or "filler" material (like name lists) depends on how much new material there is overall in the book. If they spend 30 pages reprinting dragonmarks, magic items and races that still leaves 290 pages of new content. That's an extra 100 pages on...

New D&D Adventure Reveal On 17th May at 'The Descent'

Looking at the schedule for the weekend that is out, looks like they have gone much bigger than last year with 5 studios - I worry they're splitting the audience too much outside the main stage events, but who knows. Also, Mike Mearls does not appear anywhere - not DMing, and not in the...
