Who remembers this Gem ( Dragonstrike VHS )

Remember?! I still have it! :) Or at least the tape. With nothing to play it on. Looking back at the history of D&D, I'm always impressed at the experiments TSR/WotC has taken into multimedia. LPs, VHS, CDs, video games... Most have been "meh" but always inventive.

    Cheese Sammiches

Also... what do you call them? There is a heated debated in my home about their name. Almost everyone I know calls them a "grilled cheese" (despite the fact that they're not actually grilled). My wife calls them a "cheese toasty." As far as I can tell they are only called a "cheese toasty"...

    What's your proudest DM moment?

haha. I made my wife cry. :) We were in the final game of a Star Wars campaign that lasted the better part of a decade. We've defeated the bad guy, but are still at the all-hope-is-lost-because-he-kinda-sorta-won-anyway moment. The planet is dying and turning into something akin to the...

D&D General Does Dungeons & Dragon ever make you feel overwhelmed? (Letter about 1E that could be about any edition)

I definitely feel the pain and have through every edition. Haha. I think to some extent it gets worse as you get older because as you add in additional responsibilities of work, kids, aging parents, etc. you have less time for "fun stuff." Not to mention there is just a TON of content being...

How do you store and carry your dice?

At home I have multiple bag colors to match the general color of the dice. For cons I'll use a Crown Royal bag or a Gen Con 50th anniversary bag. Fun fact... you can order Crown Royal bags with custom embroidery on them. I've often thought about getting one that says "Bad Mother F***ker" on...

D&D 5E D&D 5e suggestions for two beginner children and a first time DM dad?

shameless plug I wrote The Lady of the Lake for my kids when they were 10. Its the PERFECT adventure for new players of your kids age. ;) More seriously... Let them watch the old D&D cartoon before you play if you haven't done so already. That will kind of give them a feel for the archtypes...

D&D General Most Memorable Party Win

CR33 as you mention. No linking to pirated material, please. Granted it was 15 years ago, but I do seem to remember the dice lining up just right. Like there was a critical, and she rolled close to max damage, a buff of some sort was triggered, and then Demogorgon failed a save or something...

D&D General Most Memorable Party Win

It was the very last combat of The Savage Tide campaign for 3.5. We're entering the final room to confront Demogorgon. We're all 20th level badasses. Buff spells have been cast. Potions drunk. Swords sharpened. Spells prepared. Tarps are off and we're ready for a Donnybrook. My wife's...

    D&D 5E Early Western World D&D setting?

Expanding on Greylord's reference to Paizo above, they also have Alkenstar. Not exactly Wild West. A bit more steampunk. But they also have gunslingers. Or at least they used to in 1st ed.

D&D 5E D&D PODCASTS: Any good Podcasts out there for DMs?

I'll second NerdyBird's recommendation for Fear the Boot.

This was really cool! I have a town in my game where this would work perfect for a theme. Thanks for sharing.

D&D 5E My players just drew from the Deck of Many Things - and Holy Crap!

The Deck of Many Things is a lot of fun... until its not... which happens very quickly... for both players and the DM. The concept is cool, but as its written, the results are way too extreme and wreak havoc with the game. Although I really like the idea above of a boons/curses variant where...

D&D 1E Wizards of the Coast releases MV1 Midnight on Dagger Alley on DriveThruRPG

I also still have an original copy and thought it was a pretty cool idea back in the day. Haha. I think I paid $1 for it when K.B. Toys was selling off all the first edition stock as second edition was coming out.

Can you shoot a bow and wear a shield at the same time?

Completely possible. Couple examples below. That said... the videos below don't show what kind of accuracy the shooters have. They seem like they're more for historical demonstration. And I question how much defensive value the guy with the buckler really gets. I'd probably allow it...
