Sounds like an age-old problem. Even BEFORE the popularity of CR and Matt Mercer, players have certain expectations of their DM. And yeah, it puts a lot of burden for the DM. It's a thankless job, IMNSHO. The only enjoyment one gets from being a DM is that you manage to keep your players...

So, what really happened? I used "www.gamingreport.com" but it goes (or redirected) to CBGXtra.com instead. Did Comics Buyer's Guide bought GamingReport.com from Scrye (or bought Scrye and all their assets)?

I don't know if I agree with that. Is it because the whole franchise is centered around the one titular character, of an Earth guy from the 20th Century living in the future? As opposed to franchises that feature a crew, party, or groups, like Star Trek and Star Wars, that provide a social game...

It's a platform, like Windows or Mac OS. Games (and settings) vary (from Fallout 3 RPG style to Star Wars: KOTOR) but still play on the same platform.
