    D&D 4E A Couple 4E Questions...

You can advance/devolve monsters. They told us how to do that several weeks ago in one of the previews. For each CR level added add one to everything except damage. For each 2 CR levels added add one to the damage. Pretty simple, eh? They haven't released anything on experience, I think..

    Traps preview

Anyone here remember that these traps (and in fact everything in the MM and DM) except for the things that have "solo" in their stat blocks aren't supposed to be taken on their own? That fire jet trap is in addition to three or four other baddies who are there to make your life a living hell...

    Excerpt: skill challenges

I don't think they're saying a flat out "You can't intimidate this guy". What they're saying is that the NPC won't put up with it and will have you thrown out, thus ruining the challenge. It's not that the man can't be intimidated: it's that he won't let it affect him (unless you are a god...

D&D 4E Snippits of 4e info from Dungeoncraft Article

Going to other planes is fine and all, but if Tolkien got nothing else right, he got this: you leave to save home. I plan on having my characters come back to their home town to save it as their last mission. Sure, they'll have been plane-hopping for a little while, but there's a certain...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

The concept? It's cool. It keeps me from seeing a binder/warlock/hellfire adept(?) ever again. Oh God... what a travesty it did to monsters. I'll definitely use the concept. The execution....not so much. The feats don't look very balanced at the moment. I'd have to see the full rules to...

    A Whippershnapper's Review

I think what does it are the differences made to skills. What always got new players that I taught in trouble was skill points. With 4th, it changes. Finally, it's simple AND good. Both at the same time are beautiful.

THIS makes a bard a bard

I like it. It's an arcane leader, which I think is cool. I don't have the other "spellcasting" classes in front of me to compare, but it seems rather well balanced, except for HP. What's the HP of the wizard and warlock?

    A Whippershnapper's Review

Hey guys, the other day I picked up the Compilation and Monster Packet Things from this site, and ran an impromptu game with them. A few things to remember as I post what I thought: I've only played 3.0 and 3.5. I've never played 2nd or 1st, although I'd more than gladly play them, just to see...

    Custom Aasimar/Celestial Race: Nephilim

I like the Encounter Power, it makes sense given that a Nephilim, once cornered would fight until he gave out. The Cha bonus would really help him, Int not so much. +5 Passive Perception is a good idea, and should be used instead of the resistance to radiance damage.

Old D20 VS new D20, logic, balance and constistancy: what are your opinions?

With 4th, classes are equal, while different. The effects of a fighter are different from a wizard, sure, but both have equally damaging abilities. So instead of depowering everyone to the wizard's level they brought everyone else up. So far I like the change.

    Ending the Campaign

You could have it to where it's not one guy at all, but a race of immortals who have very sucessfully screwed everyone over, but that depends on what you've been doing in your campaign so far. Too farfetched? I dunno.

    Spell Hatred & 4e: A question !

You're all right. The answer is what 4th is already doing: up the amount of healing for all classes so that way the spellcasters can do cooler stuff.
