He went full grognard. You never go full grognard.

D&D 5E D&D Head Talks Future Plans (Sort Of)

Where's Mike Mearls on the organization chart these days?

    D&D 5E D&D Team Productivity?

Yes, given the poor quality of bindings and other print issues that we have seen I agree that WotC is definitely cutting corners.

    D&D 5E D&D Team Productivity?

It would be decent productivity if it was in fact WotC producing 4 books of a new content a year. But they're not. Some of their productivity is due to rehashing old material and outsourcing production. The actual content generated by WotC is lower than 4 books a year.

    D&D 5E D&D Team Productivity?

The old chestnut that will be trotted out is that the slow release schedule is the key to 5e's success: "I've got too much to play already!" etc. In terms of outsourcing, this is straightforward late-stage capitalism.

D&D 5E Kobold Press (and are they the new Paizo?)

I support them on Patreon to receive their semi-monthly Warlock 5e 'zine. Fantastic stuff: new spells, subclasses, adventures. I highly recommend it. I have Tome of Beasts and Creature Codex as well.

D&D 5E All four Original Adventures Reincarnated!

Edit: Sorry, replied before coffee. Since you have the first two, number 4 is the same in terms of style, presentation, format. Quality of binding outstanding. I'll leave original reply for others who are unfamiliar with the series. They definitely changed printers after the first two...

D&D 5E Kate Welch on Leaving WotC

Nah, between watching his older brother play Skyrim and his own experience with Breath of the Wild and other random stuff (all the LotR!) it seems pretty intuitive to him and his friends. Now they are making a mess of the rules, and adding new ones too--seems like fighters can surge and add an...

D&D 5E All four Original Adventures Reincarnated!

Agree 100000% about the Drow series. Imagine hundreds of pages of Goodman care and attention on those. We can dream. I would pre-order Caslte Amber but shipping doubles the price. I (and everyone on this side of the Atlantic) generally have to wait for it to show up in an online retailer (or...

D&D 5E All four Original Adventures Reincarnated!

These get better with every release. The Lost City is a fantastic volume. Great guidelines, and a BRICK of adventure content. By my count, there are 200 pages of actual adventure content in Lost City. A full 1-7 campaign here but the content is so rich it could easily go further. Then there...

    D&D 5E Should D&D 5e have Epic Levels?

Ninjaed. Interesting in how slow rate of play is achieved mechanically.

    D&D 5E To much 5th edition content?

Every group has a different play style. I know a guy in one group who had a non-combat six-hour Avernus session last week. Whatever is fun for people.

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Ravnica, Eberron, Wildemount and only the smallest nod to Greyhawk. Everyone has their breaking point. Mearls reached his.

D&D 5E Most User-Friendly VTT? (Dice Games In The Time of Covid)

In addition to the poor UI experience, OP must also understand that using ANY virtual tabletop software will greatly increase DM prep time: it requires you to only to prep the adventure as normal but also all the electronic side of the VTT; depending on the features used this is a serious...

D&D 5E Most User-Friendly VTT? (Dice Games In The Time of Covid)

Seriously, I would urge OP to buy a month of the lowest level Zoom subscription and use that.

D&D 5E Most User-Friendly VTT? (Dice Games In The Time of Covid)

As others have said, it's fine for just showing maps. However, once you go to the GM side and try to do anything advanced Roll20 descends into a counter-intuitive UI that would make Kafka proud.
