D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

Unless you're a Took, have a smidgen of Took ancestry, or are friend of a Took who drags you into an adventure. Or a young lad or lass, from any family, who happens to be inspired by a passing firecracker salesman. :) ...or unless you're a Outsider tramp-hobbit from the West of the World: "The...

D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

I...told...you...so! I called this back in 2014: "Cubicle Seven would be welcome to use our license to produce a D&D COMPATIBLE worldbook for Middle-earth and Doctor Who alongside their house-rule product lines. They would however, need to refer back to the PHB for all basic rules, such as...

Robert E. Howard's Conan AMA With Jason Durall & Chris Lites

Does Modiphius have the right to mention or portray the various alternate chronologies and adaptations of the Hyborian Age? If so, besides crafting its own take on the Hyborian Age, will Modiphius at least address these in passing? For example: The various chronologies offered for the...

CURSE OF STRAHD'S Foreword By Tracy Hickman

Can the PCs win the game by initiating a "Co-Dependents of Vampires Anonymous" (COVA) fellowship? Too bad there aren't 12 Steps to recover from Vampirism. Or are there...?

A D&D History Tour Of Lake Geneva

Too bad TRPGers aren't rich enough to buy those places (GG's house and the beautiful Horticultural Hall) and turn them into TRPG cultural meccas. Atkinson?

    D&D General Monster ENCyclopedia: Kraken

This is awesome! Thank you Echohawk! I wonder exactly why the Kraken was part of the Conan/Hyborian chapter of OD&D? Probably there was some novel where Conan fights a kraken. Does anyone know if the original "Conan of the Isles" novel has a kraken in it? (The comic adaptation does.)

    No news today?

There was no news in the morning, at least in my US Eastern Timezone. I'm not lying. Those 5 articles came later in the day. Good stuff. And I have experienced that lag occasionally on some other days, over the past year (not necessarily last week). That is my experience. You have your own...

[UPDATED] The Archmage (aka Ed Greenwood) Returns to the Forgotten Realms

So we are free to publish novellas and novels set in the FR, via DM Guild? Sweet. I forgot that the FR designers from years past could publish via DM Guild. Great! Looking forward to roll out of the other D&D worlds -- then Bruce Heard's Mystara will, at long last, become available. Better do...

    No news today?

I feel sad and disappointed when there's not a fresh news item when I check EN World on Mondays (or other weekdays). What're the latest updates on DM Guild releases? There's stuff coming out every day. (e.g. I saw 5E Maztica and Kara-Tur sourcebooks there!) What're the latest kickstarters and...

    The Origin of the Fireball

Two "fire ball" passage in Tolkien's text I'm not saying L. Patt's "Rules for Middle-earth" (and thence D&D) accurately portray what happened in that scene where Gandalf casts those fire-cones...I'm just saying that surely this passage (and the other passage you mention) are the sources for...
