From Forgotten Realms to Red Steel: Here's That Full D&D Setting Sales Chart

As a person that started playing in 5E here's why I don't really have any interest in Greyhawk as a property: It's just a fantasy setting, or at least, that's what it comes across as. Eberron, Ravenloft, Spelljammer, Dark Sun etc. are all dramatically different from a typical fantasy setting...

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

There's a thin line between DMing and playing the PCs yourself, I know I find it hard not to point out the various times my players don't notice x or y ability at the right time. At the end of the day players make mistakes, that's a part of real play and isn't a gotcha

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

It's worth mentioning here that the Rogue's Blindsense isn't blindsight, it should be, but I guess that's for 2024 to solve. Note: I'm not saying you wouldn't know where Vecna was, but the difference is important as Pyre would still have disadvantage and lose Sneak

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

For what it's worth I wouldn't allow it, it goes against the purpose of the effect and IIRC RAW (somewhere) those in an AOE count as targeted by that spell

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

Revivify doesn't say anything on the matter, and Twitter isn't accepted by everyone, I personally wouldn't allow it to work, again, my intention was to draw to the fact they're currently a zombie.

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

Kill it then Rez it, but in practice it's very heavily a DM call whether or not the corpse is the PC, or the zombie. I was mostly just pointing out that they were a zombie right now in case that was missed.

Maybe once he's no longer a zombie?

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

You can't cast another spell when one is CS'd can you?

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

I mean, if Vecna can move he'd still have an action, wouldn't he? I'm just trying to give another point of view, I wouldn't let my players automatically know he was there, technically breaking stealth or not he's across a large room behind total cover, at best they'd know 'something' was there...

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

Vecna's CS ability doesn't require any components and IIRC has no discernible visible effect. Are you trying to say what you said should have prompted a Perception check? And there's nothing to say that he couldn't have used his reaction and then just moved away from a slit

D&D 5E New Vecna Battle (Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!!!) - CONCLUDED

Given that you have 20 Int and Truesight, I would encourage you to stop thinking about it as a D&D problem, and wonder why you couldn't see someone in real life

Did you want to make something else? If D&D Beyond is needed I don't mind sharing content for the challenge so you can build with less restraints

What do you need help doing with Roll20? I DM two long term games in it a week and run workshops on it

A new thread would be helpful, but should definitely be linked here.

I may have missed something, but what's going on with Morcolt? I'm assuming that the necrotic damage is Life Drinker, does he only have a +2 Cha? And where is the radiant damage from/why did he apply a Chill Touch-style effect with his pact-bow?

Personally I would allow it first in my games, but given the point of this thread I think sticking to how it's written best serves to prove Vecna's mettle.

No, spells do what they say they do, other spells specify do damage to a creature, Invisibility doesn't do that, so he'd stay Invisible. In fact, there's no reason why he wouldn't stay invisible throughout if he forewent his AT attacks, assuming that was prudent for him of course.

Pro-GM Finder Site StartPlaying Raises $6.5M Funding

My arena games put a group of PCs through combat as basically recommended by the DMG: 2 fights, short rest, 2 fights, short rest, one big fight or two larger ones. If they survive the arena then they qualify for choosing magic items for the next arena and level up for it should they want to...

Pro-GM Finder Site StartPlaying Raises $6.5M Funding

I'm not sure how to divide your quote up, so I've added letters to reference: A) Doing it for pay does change the dynamic a bit, and I find myself letting some things slide (etiquette, general leniency) that I wouldn't in normal games from time to time. It does put a degree of pressure on the...
