What setting would you like to see as RPG?

I would like to see an RPG set in the world of Bas-Lag (Perdido Street Station, by China Miéville). Farscape: I also would like to see it done again; with more then just one book this time.

    Music for a CoC game

Well, for atmosphere I would pick something melodic, classical. For historical, go to the library and check out a few CDs that have some jazz from the 30's. For that slow decent in to madness, Throbbing Gristle. Pretty much anything by TG will work for making an atmosphere of insanity.

    Blog: Paladin vs. Cleric, fight!

If you make the Paladin a defender class, won't that kind of be stepping on the Clerics toes? I guess because of the Paladins abilities I always saw him as more then just a Knight or defender.

A small handful of new 5E designers' quotes: Design Goals, Healers, Art, OGL

I just can't see the creation of "Pathfinder" as a flaw, strategic or otherwise. Having "Pathfinder" rise as a result of what WOTC has done really is good for both companies. If Paizo had accepted 4e as the next step, we wouldn't be talking 5e right now, IMHO. The OGL did exactly what it was...

How do you feel about the future of D&D after the official announcements?

I am neutral about it so that way I am not disappointed. But really, with every new edition I found something that I liked. I also found myself missing things from previous editions. I am curious to what this "if you like X edition, then we can accommodate" really means...but I will wait and...

    D&D 5E I am perfectly fine with WoTC producing D&D 5th Edition

I don't see the abilities going anywhere, either. I agree that the ability score doesn't seem as important as the modifiers...but who am I to say what is important, right?

    Rifts vs D&D

Ultimately, I guess I liken them both to hobo stew. Lots of stuff in it and sometimes you find things that work well together and things that make you wretch.

    Rifts vs D&D

Thanks for posting this. The internet was getting boring and I was afraid I would have to work while at work. I am sort of a draw between the two. Rifts - I started with the Palladium system, it was my first. So I have a soft spot for the books and wish I could play. Although every time I...

RPG Hot (and Cold) Spots - What are good (and not-so-good) gaming towns?

Kalamazoo, Michigan - Warm Battle Creek, Michigan - Warm We have WMU, Kalamazoo College and KVCC all within 5miles of each other. So the ability to play is almost always there. Not to forget we also have/had "Marmalade Dog" hosted at WMU every year. A decently sized event with all sorts of...

    What's your favorite spellcasting system?

I always liked, please forgive me, Palladium's magic system.

How Often Do You Cancel Sessions?

Well as the GM of my gaming group, and part time performance artist, I can say that I probably do. During the Winter seasons it is easier for me to run a game because that is when my performance schedule slows down. But once Summer hits, it gets harder and harder to run a session because at...

OK, I will check that out.

Need help picking the right system, please.

I am trying to find a system that can handle magic and tech in one setting. I know there is Rifts but I honestly don't want, nor do I like, that system. Is there anything else out there that has handled the two together but remained balanced?

    New name for warforged

Promethean (not original but still good) A.D.E.M. (Asses Decide Execute Manipulate), just a general description of what it does. Jerrycans (Use as a derogatory term) Company Men (Because they were created by companies for manual labor) Scabs (Because anything attempting to replace the common...

    Steampunk

I love, and have loved for over 20years, the idea of steampunk. Sorry for the "elitism" but I feel it is necessary to note approximately what stage of this sub genre I come from. I really like the idea of humanity continuing the industrial era and expanding it. The idea that the Babbage...

Which D&D Campaign World did you enjoy most?

Dragonlance: Age of Mortals campaign. Even though we didn't finish it I still liked feeling like I was actually affecting the actual content of the game for futures to come.

    Tips On Being Evil

Wow, as someone who is looking for a nemesis, I would be sorely disappointed in your ability to be evil for me. But seriously...Evil is relative. Make someone who is evil but with motives you can relate to.
