Pathfinder 2E My Biggest Concern for Pathfinder 2e

I take Capn Zap's point; I do not wish to go around in circles discussing validity of opinions except to say this: you clearly don't understand what 'implied' means. Plus, admittedly, I haven't read many other PF2E threads but that's because I don't have the time. I want PF2E to succeed but the...

Pathfinder 2E My Biggest Concern for Pathfinder 2e

Why is this 'clearly' untrue? By your own arguement you appear to imply that Pathfinder 2e is going to succeed but this is unsubstantiated. I don't take issue with that though as this is your implied viewpoint. The 'narratives' that people put forward for why PF2e may or may not succeed are...

Pathfinder 2E My Biggest Concern for Pathfinder 2e

Opinions are just that, personal opinions. Opinions themselves do not cause problems - how people perceive them is what causes the problem. Clearly, you have a problem with the idea that someone believes Pathfinder 2e is going to fail. That's your issue to deal with. I also believe Pathfinder...

D&D 5E 5e Guide to the Abyss and 9 Hells?

For the Nine Hells you could try the Planes of Law boxset available on pdf on DMSguild. It's part of the Planescape line from 2nd edition.

D&D 5E Would You Rather Have a LE or CN party member?

I'm running a 5e Ravenloft campaign; the existing characters are not technically evil in alignment but have committed murder, betrayal of another character etc (and rolled and failed Dark Power Checks). Campaign has not been derailed and is very spicy. A new player is joining the group - a LE...

Ravnica: Is This The New D&D Setting? [UPDATED & CONFIRMED!]

I haven't read through this entire thread as it's too long so not sure if this has been mentioned; on Dragon Talk Jeremy Crawford states this book has a Bestiary almost as big as the one in MToF. Mostly new monsters which I assume are converted from MTG in general and Ravnica specifically...

So is that it? (re: the setting announcements)

Fair enough I suppose. I enjoyed Eberron back in the day but I'm not burning with desire to run it right now; I'll wait for the final version.

So is that it? (re: the setting announcements)

There is no earthly reason why the Wayfarer's Guide can't also be available as a Print on Demand softcover. There are plenty of people on the discussion section for the product asking for exactly this. WotC missing out on some sales I think. If it remains PDF only then it's a pass from me.

Ravnica: Is This The New D&D Setting? [UPDATED & CONFIRMED!]

This. I'd love a 5E version of Spelljammer or Planescape but you have to bring new people in as well. I don't know much about Ravnica but it sounds cool as hell. Eberron was new once, I recall being excited about it in 2004 - that was then and this is now. Time for innovation again.

Marathon, Broadway, and Catacomb: Upcoming D&D Products?

Nathan Stewart didn't want to spoiler any of the remaining 2018 or Spring 2019 releases - this includes all three releases later this year - and the Art book had already been announced. Therefore, the mystery release is not the Art book. I would be very surprised if there was any involvement in...

Marathon, Broadway, and Catacomb: Upcoming D&D Products?

Pretty sure it's not that; WotC are keeping quiet about this release - pretty certain it's an rpg supplement. Nathan Stewart didn't want to spoiler any of the upcoming releases just yet. Mearls has also stated that they (WotC) don't want to be predictable which is the reason why the rules...

Marathon, Broadway, and Catacomb: Upcoming D&D Products?

When Nathan Stewart asked Kate which releases for this fall she's worked on Kate stated that she's done editorial work for the first and second but not for the third. It's pretty clear the third autumn release is a major product rather a digital release.

Marathon, Broadway, and Catacomb: Upcoming D&D Products?

I didn't mean simply a planar guide/Manual of the Planes; I meant a guide to the Multiverse which covers Planes but also incorporates information/mechanics for using the various published campaign settings such as Greyhawk, Krynn, Eberron etc plus how to reach them - portals, astral conduits...

Marathon, Broadway, and Catacomb: Upcoming D&D Products?

On Nathan's Fireside chat this past Friday, Kate Welch confirmed there will be three releases this Autumn. Interestingly, they have not given a codeword for this fourth 2018 release. I reckon this 'extra' release may be the one that makes certain fans happy. My money is either on a planar guide...

Farland: A 5th Edition Setting Conquered By Evil

I'd be all over this setting if it was available as POD. Any ETA for when that might happen?

D&D 5E 5E Deck of Many Things - does it ever disappear?

Any DM who allows his players to get a peasant to take the risks involved with the Deck without consequences should hang his head in shame. The peasant could equally draw the enmity of a devil who may scheme against the peasant through his protectors (the players) or draw the Void or Donjon...

D&D 5E 5E Deck of Many Things - does it ever disappear?

Actually, I fully realise the consequences of the Deck, I've introduced the Deck into my campaigns in earlier editions knowing full well the implications. The difference with the 5E version is that it is not clear from the text that the Deck can only be used once per person. The wording states...

D&D 5E 5E Deck of Many Things - does it ever disappear?

Good point but the wording is ambiguous, there needs to be additional information e.g the Deck cannot be used by that person ever again.

D&D 5E 5E Deck of Many Things - does it ever disappear?

My memory is a bit hazy but I seem to recall the 3.x versions of the Deck only allowed someone to make use of it once. I'm happy with that. So it seem the 5E Deck needs erratta then.

D&D 5E 5E Deck of Many Things - does it ever disappear?

So, I'm thinking of introducing the Deck into my game; reading it's description in the 5E DMG there is no mention of any circumstances where the Deck disappears. In contrast, the 1E version disappears whenever the Donjon or Void cards are drawn. Has something been left off the 5E version or is...
