WotC New WotC Statement on Orion Black

You know, that is probably it. I don't like putting people on ignore, unless they're very obvious trolls. I have exactly zero users on my ignore list here on Enworld, and it's not like I don't disagree with people frequently. I refrain from using the ignore function because I want to have my...

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

That’s a bit surprising to me. The wisdom/charisma pacifist cleric was one most loved leader builds I’ve ever seen, both by the player using it and by the rest of the party. It healed ridiculous numbers, had strong buffs and powerful aoe control, it was great.

    D&D 5E Boxed texts

Same. I'm also a non-native english speaker, and I also never used boxed texts as is. A literal translation in my language would just sound weird and cringy.

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

Considering that the third edition Wizard received the Scribe Scroll feat for free at level 1...I'd guess most people? In our very first campaign ever, one of us played a wizard, got that feat for free, discovered that magic crafting was a thing, and read the rules about it. Simple and...

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

Magic item crafting was part of the PHB rules, though. It was assumed to be information available to the players. No offense meant. The fact that your group played 3e for a really short time probably had a lot to do with not discovering some of most powerful "tricks" such as CLW wands.

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

I mean, at the time of 3e, none of us had internet access, and yet, even my group of 16-17 year old friends realized very soon how useful and efficient CLW wands were. It was kind of obvious.

D&D General Critical Role Investigation Into Complaint

This whole thing looks like a big ball of nothing to me.

WotC New WotC Statement on Orion Black

That's pretty darn cool, not gonna lie, and that is probably the kind of content that Twitter handles well. Non-contentious, informative, inoffensive, scientific stuff. I mean, who's going to disagree or argue about a cool archeological story and its fun connection to an important piece of...

WotC New WotC Statement on Orion Black

I can’t think of a worse place than Twitter for having civilized conversations. Maybe 4chan? I don’t actually know, never posted there, only know their reputation. Twitter’s structure lends itself very well to shouting, outrage, extreme positions and factionalism. The Wotc forums, at their very...

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

There was even a specific variant rule, inherent bonuses, to run campaigns with no magic items. I used it to great effect, it worked like a charm. You could even turn it on and off in the official character builder.

WotC New WotC Statement on Orion Black

The forums survived the 3e-4e edition wars. The 4e-5e transition was quite mild, in comparison. In any case, as they say, out of the frying pan, into the fire: Twitter is way worse.

WotC New WotC Statement on Orion Black

To think that they closed their own (pretty popular) forum some years ago, because clearly, Twitter was the future. I wonder if they're regretting that choice now.

WotC New WotC Statement on Orion Black

In other news, Twitter confirmed as an absolutely toxic place. Almost 100% of the comments are just dogpiling Wotc pretty unfairly, and about a third of those are loudly asking them to fire Mike Mearls. I have no words.

    D&D 5E Booming Blade question

Maybe, it wasn’t my character, I just remember it being a cool combo. Could be the result of a rule misinterpretation!

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

Couldn’t agree more, I know that feeling. Having to reinvent the wheel every time just to accomplish something that took 5 minutes to do in 4e.

    D&D 5E Booming Blade question

One of the coolest Eldritch Knight build I’ve seen used a halberd, booming blade, polearm master and warcaster. Booming blade opportunity attacks on targets approaching you are fun.

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

Well, several other posters already said what I wished to say. Anyway, I agree with the OP. Healing surge was a great mechanic, hardly replaceable by its undercooked successor, HD.

D&D 5E How good is the healer feat compared to Hit Dice?

Right. The values in parenthesis for the healer feat is average healing multiplied by expected daily used. I’ll edit the op for clarity.

    D&D 5E 5E and delaying your turn.

Our group brought back delaying in 5e day one. We just think that the loss of speed is worth the increase in tactical options. YMMV.

    D&D 5E House Rules Feedback

I say go for it. This looks like an interesting remastering of 5e, and I like most of the changes you made. Be ready to make some adjustments during actual play, though. There’s no substitute to actual playtesting.
