D&D 5E Things 5E has taught you about your playstyle.

Comparing 5E to earlier editions has taught at least my group that there have been some continued mistakes over multiple editions. For example: 1) We've been playing attacks of opportunity wrong for years, due to a misreading of the 3E PHB and the vague wording being carried over to Pathfinder...

    D&D 5E What is Over-Powered?

You mean that's not what we're doing? Okay, I admit the add-ons are more than a few...

[UPDATED!] The Unsung (Female) Half of the D&D Team!

Wow. That is a lot of people. Definitely seeing that this company is doing well.

D&D 5E What are the Roles now?

After some thinking, consulting, drinking, and asking a few of my players... The following are the roles my group agrees actually exist. General Custer: You are the leader of this ragtag bunch of misfits, and despite any failings you may have in other areas all of your plans are tactically...

D&D 5E T1: The Village of Hommlet (OOC)

I don't object either. It would make some sense for those who frequent the inn to know Ilyana anyway :D

    Deleted! My apologies, Morrus.

[UPDATED!] The Unsung (Female) Half of the D&D Team!

I want people like you in the industry. I may not ever fully understand your viewpoint on life, but I can say there are endless items you can contribute to the roleplaying industry that will benefit it just because of what you know about life. And, the people accepting it is of your viewpoint...

[UPDATED!] The Unsung (Female) Half of the D&D Team!

Now this is a good point! There's also something else: That diversity of viewpoints will mean a diversity of information for creating a fantasy game that allows people to truly RP as they wish. More viewpoints are never a bad thing for roleplaying games.

[UPDATED!] The Unsung (Female) Half of the D&D Team!

Can I just state something I've observed? This will also show why it is I am an anti-SJW despite believing in the essential goals of equality. Take a look at what ad_hoc said: "Feeling that gender does not matter is a privilege." Okay, that's nice... and isn't that same feeling, one backed by...

[UPDATED!] The Unsung (Female) Half of the D&D Team!

On this, we both agree. Plus, as I've stated, having a more inclusive hobby is simple practicality and good for the game. And that's speaking as someone who is one of the anti-SJWs. So, overall, I don't think there is an inherent disagreement between the sides on this one.

[UPDATED!] The Unsung (Female) Half of the D&D Team!

Being possibly the biggest anti-SJW person on this site, I can affirm that wanting more women in the business and wanting them to have more input is not solely an SJW decision. I am honestly happy about the make-up of WotC and the fact there are more women. Why? Because all I have to do is open...

D&D 5E T1: The Village of Hommlet (IC)

Ilyana examines herself in the mirror as she prepares for her show. Her fiery-red hair, which stretches all the way down to her shoulder blades, is held out of her face by a braid that circles across her forehead. Included in the braid are several tiny bells, intended to make noise as she moves...

D&D 5E Point buy or Dice?

I prefer point buy. It's easier to translate to online games, tends to be easier to balance around, and it avoids a session needed to just generating characters.

    D&D 5E Recreating High-level Pathfinder characters in 5e

My first instinct on this is to say, "Don't. Have them build entirely new characters instead." It still remains my strongest instinct. 5E uses an entirely different level of power and balance than Pathfinder. Magic items, for example, are not something 5E is really balanced around; having even...

D&D 5E Give Me Three Reasons To Play Greyhawk

This brings up an interesting question... Can someone take the basic Greyhawk info and use it as just a loose basis for creating a heavily customized version of Greyhawk? I have a few setting details and mechanics I want to test out, and using a variation of an existing campaign is a lot easier...

D&D 5E Thank you WoTc: I feel like 5th edition has brought the spirit back into D&D.

5E is definitely looking like it could be my favorite edition. May even give up Pathfinder for it. Still not going to give up Savage Worlds or Numenera (assuming the slump in Numenera games reverses itself). Both of those systems have special places in my heart that 5E just can't fill.

    D&D 5E What is Over-Powered?

Official MM only. I haven't looked at 3PP sources yet. The shadows are an example that really comes to mind.

D&D 5E Castle Greyhawk and World of Greyhawk Gazetter for 5E

Given how it went last time, I don't think it will ever happen. I would love it to happen, though.
