Templates are add-ons to creatures that, yes, usually make them stronger. I think of templates as being like clothing, in that you can apply a given template (hat) to many different creatures. If you don't know what a void dragon is, buy Upper_Krust's epic bestiary.

Gestalt. Along one line, a single level of monk followed by levels of swashbuckler. Along the other line, straight psychic (see the Psychic's Handbook). If you want to play a sith, take the ki blast feat (PHBII) and have it look like lightning.

The amidah template from the Epic Bestiary, among other things, gives the crature maximum ranks in all skills. For those of you who aree familiar with the skill-point-based system from Green Ronin's Psychic's Handbook, does using both seem utterly insane or just very nasty?
