    Kill the skinny halfling!

On the whole "mass" subject, people are thinking of halflings as small humans. They're a completely different species and may just be more powerful pound for pound. A big chimpanzee is only 150lb, but I'd put my money on the chimp against a muscular 250lb human.

    Open the binding!

I love the way Harnmaster handles it, they use a binder.

    More Mythic Dragons

I don't use metallic or chromatic dragons. All dragons are unique, and each is nastier than the last.

    Kill the skinny halfling!

In that situation I would let him play an athletic halfling, but he would be unusual for his race. Just as if I'm running a campaign in Ancient Greece and someone wants to play a western knight, he can behave however he likes (though plate armor of course wouldn't be available) but he isn't...

    Kill the skinny halfling!

Nobody's game exists in a vacuum, players come in with expectations based upon their experiences. A halfling from the 3e PHB is an athletic creature that gains bonuses to climbing and jumping. When you make changes to what is in the core books there is often resistance from some players, if...

    Kill the skinny halfling!

Because while the players have control over their character, that control is limited. The halfling from 1e/2e is a completely different creature than the one from 3e/4e.

    April 3rd, Rule of 3

Still one short, the psion was never in a true PHB.

    Kill the skinny halfling!

I've always felt a bonus to wisdom was more appropriate for halflings instead of dex as well. Good down-to earth folk, halflings.

    April 3rd, Rule of 3

They should go back to subclasses. A ranger is a sub-class of fighter, they can do some things a fighter can't do but they also have some weaknesses a core fighter doesn't. I liked how in 2e every single class other than fighter, cleric, thief, and magic user was optional. I think that's the...

    April 3rd, Rule of 3

You do have a point there, I've always preferred the spell-point rules. I actually very rarely use memorization as presented in the Core Rules because it logically doesn't make sense, but I usually have a variant that does the same thing. In my current campaign one of the ways a wizard can...

    Kill the skinny halfling!

Hin is the name WotC gave to their halflings because halfling would imply they're half as good, and thus it's "racist". The options are fat halflings, skinny halflings, both halflings (either as two subraces or two completely different races) or neither.

Feat points for getting feats instead of fixed feat slots at levels?

At that point you might as well just have character points that could be spent on either skills on a 1-for-1 basis or feats for multiple points.

    Kill the skinny halfling!

Or at least bring back the tubby hairfooted hobbitses. How do you like your halflings?

Who else wants damage tracked separately per hit ?

Something I would like to see, perhaps as an optional rule, would be a hit point system like what they had in Alternity. I was really hoping more Alternity stuff would make it into 3e, but oh well. Alternity had 4 types of damage: Stun: Measured light, superficial wounds that would heal...

    April 3rd, Rule of 3

I'm fine with non-magical healing, in fact I've been using it in my campaigns since the 90s. At least as far back as 1E the rules have been very specific that only a small part of damage is actual physical wounds. Much of it is luck, stamina, and skill. I see no reason hps should heal slowly...

Who else wants damage tracked separately per hit ?

I'd love it, but it'll never ever happen.

Which less popular classes should come back

Where is it said that every class ever included in a true Player's Handbook is in? If the warlock is in, I'm definitely out. I despise that class and not only don't want to play one, I don't want to sit at the same table as one. It's the perfect representative of what I DON"T want in my...

5E: Collectible Rules Are In! (April Fools Post)

God I hate April Fool's Day.

    I never "got" the Cleric

I replaced the cleric with the bard, the bard is a far better priest than the cleric ever was. Just replace arcane spellcasting with divine spellcasting. What can the bard do that priest should be able to do but clerics can't? Bring in followers, entrance followers, boost followers spirits...

What kinds of New Settings do you want?

I want a swashbuckling setting, where heavy armors are rare and black powder weapons are commonplace. A Dark Ages or ancient setting would also be good. I think those two settings could actually be combined very easily, after all most of the world was in the dark during antiquity. There...
