Open Design - Wolfgang Bauer - anyone participate?

Worth it? Hell yeah! Worth it? Hell yeah! I have been a patron on both projects and will sign up for the 3rd as well. I have really, really enjoyed participating. The first adventure ("Steam & Brass") happened to be perfect for my own campaign and so I test ran the adventure with my players...

    Wizards Digital Initiative

What I would like to see Prep time it takes for DM'ing a game is the number one gripe I have, so anything to make prep time easier for DM's would be a boon. Specifically, I would like to be able to pull up all races and monster stats and be able to advance them or add templates or class...

    Any fey-themed campaigns out there?

Faeries by Bryon Wischstadt The best fey sourcebook out there is Bryon Wischstadt's Faeries. Honestly, this is an amazing D20 sourcebook full of fey lore, prestige classes, feats, spells, monsters, geography of Faerie (even a cool map of the plane), history, language, myths and gods, culture...

    Dagon Mini

Have you all seen the Dagon mini put out by Sota toys? Dagon Mini Actually it is an action figure, slightly poseable. But what is cool, is that it looks a lot like the Dagon from FC1 Hordes of the Abyss, and it is just about Gargantuan size, possibly colosal if you go by squares he...

    Toys for use as minis

Yugi-Oh I have used a few Yugi-Oh figures for D&D minis. They have a cool fishman that makes for a good Sahuagin. The pumpkin king actually makes for a decent beholder. And they have a squid figure that I always use for a fiendish octopus or squid. Not to mention, Yugi-oh has several good...

Excel D&D monster index (December update)

Oh my god! This spreadsheet is awesome! Dude! Massive Kudos to you! You have indexed over 22 thousand monsters by type, subtype, size, source, challenge rating, setting, name and alternate names. This is soooo handy if say, I wanted to find a suitable critter for a given encounter. Let's...

    D&D Miniatures and Heroclix together?

D&D figures look fine next to Mageknight & Heroclix figures (mostly) There's not that much of a difference. The figures look mostly fine, although some might seem a little bit off. D&D figures use the 1 inch = 5 feet scale, which is also called 25 mm scale (25 mm = 1 inch). D&D figures adhere...

Wolfgang Bauer to take Dungeoncraft Helm

I am a big fan of Wolfgang Baur's custom adventure project (www.wolfgangbaur.com) Some of the freebies you get as a member are the cool articles he posts. His articles on various aspects of adventure design (for project members only) have been invaluable to me. His last article on designing...

D&D 4E The Soonest You Would Purchase 4e

3.5 D&D is the best version of D&D that there has ever been. It is elegant. Utilitarian. Plays well. I have spent a lot of money buying 3.5 books. I will feel royally betrayed if they bring out a 4th edition. I don't see what changes that they can make that would make a 4th edition more...

Fiendish Codex II next month--Any scoop/rumors/etc.?

I am all about the lore. I couldn't care less about the stats. I crave this book because I wan't to know the history of Hell, the reckoning and what lords have lost out to others. I want to learn how Triel fell. I wan't to know the secrets of Asmodeus, is he really a titanic serpent coiled...

Generic term for a type of god or spirit

I thought vettir was more akin to a gnome (in the elemental sense) or an earth spirit? Come to think of it, I guess that would be appropriate for a guardian spirit of a place. But I associate vettir with spirits of the land and earth.

Planar Handbook and Manual of the Planes

I love the 3E Manual of the Planes. I refer to it often. It has a lot of fluff in there. Also a lot of metphysics. It has some nifty monsters in it as well. It has a really good survey of the planes of the Great Wheel. It also has a bunch of alternate planes, such as the plane of Faerie...

    Fey as powers that be

Faeries by Bryon Wischstadt The very best sourcebook on Fey is Bryon Wischstadt's Faeries from Bastion Press: http://dragonwing.net/Faeries.htm This book is so fantastic. Highly worth your money if you want to use fey in your game. It is chock full of lore about the fey folk, it's got cool...
