I was going to retrain my bard out of magic missle(as the dillatante power) but using one of the later feats you can use your dillatante power as a basic attack with a power. always hit ranged daily power anyone?

but how does the bard do this? is it a magical force that impells them?(like a telekinetic push) or is it like a jedi mind trick compelling them to wlak somewhere? also if you slide them past allys do they provoke OAs?

OK so I've been using this power much like "force push", that the target is pushed in a direction. I'm not sure if i'm using it right. Basically can you throw people/creaures off ledges with it? It says "slide target 5 spaces to an adjacent ally" what if the target is not 5 spaces from an ally?
