D&D (2024) Damage Threshold, the new "need a magic weapon"?

You can resolve it in less than ten seconds with the Mob Attack rules in the DMG

    D&D (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Good for you, but you miss my point. With the old rules, there was no need to "ban" anything because feats were opt-in in the first place.

    D&D (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Wouldn't work at all for most tables. People (players, really) don't like to have restrictions placed upon them. Feats as baseline is the biggest turn off for me in this new PHB.

D&D (2024) Not a fan of the new Eldritch Knight

If that's how you "loved" Eldritch Knight, I guess the changes are working as intended.

    D&D (2024) Flanking no more in D&D 2024?

Flanking doesn't make any sense with the relaxed Opportunity Attack rules we've got with 5e.

D&D (2024) PHB 2024 Is Hilariously Broken. Most OP of All Time?

    Unnecessarily hyperbolic and demonstrably false.

D&D (2024) PHB 2024 Is Hilariously Broken. Most OP of All Time?

What are you talking about? 2014 already had rules for magic items crafting in both the Dungeon Master's Guide and Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

D&D (2024) WotC Invites You To Explore the World of Greyhawk

@overgeeked was specifically referring to adventure hubs / home bases, which those two clearly are.

D&D (2024) WotC Invites You To Explore the World of Greyhawk

Both of the 4e DMGs in fact. Fallcrest in the first and flipping Sigil in the second.

Do we have a source for this claim?

D&D (2024) The New Custom Backgrounds Details

Nonsense. The only thing 100% under player control is action declaration.

A Sneak Peek of the 2024 D&D Dungeon Master's Guide

It's not that "people" decided to ignore anything, but the current discussion is about the Dungeon Master's Guide. Personally, I don't care about any of these as long as the company delivers a quality product. I'm more concerned about the contents of the new book than anything else.

A Sneak Peek of the 2024 D&D Dungeon Master's Guide

Yep. With the whole city of Fallcrest complete with maps, NPCs, plot hooks.

Dungeons & Dragons Has Done Away With the Adventuring Day

Guess I am nobody then... On another note, the XP budget method of encounter building is straight up lifted from 4e. That does nothing at all about addressing the resource management problem that inevitably arises when tables insist on having only a couple fights per long rest.

D&D (2024) Do players really want balance?

The Frightened condition doesn't necessarily have to be caused by a supernatural source. Battle Master's Menacing Strike is the prime example of mundane induced fear that calls for a wisdom saving throw.

D&D 5E How to Run Combats in a Cavernous Dungeon Without Alerting All NPC's?

Let the players solve their own problems.

D&D (2024) Do players really want balance?

I was mostly talking about published modules and the general understanding of what consists a dungeon. For the record, I have read pretty much every WoTC 5e adventure and ran many of those. Even Dungeon of the Mad Mage lacks the resource management and sense of exploration from earlier...

D&D (2024) Do players really want balance?

Persistent injuries are the only one I can think about.

D&D (2024) Do players really want balance?

Whatever people call dungeons nowadays are nothing like the original concept.
