Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

I process things very slowly, especially reading over and selecting spells for example. I will take the one-page char sheet as a design challenge, I guess. Thanks to you and everyone else for sharing your custom char templates!

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

How do you fit all that on a single page? Granted, three of the pages are basically copies for spells and items and the rest uses large fonts and generous spacing.

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

That is a feature of this sheet, but version 3.0 will tend more towards that principle. Well, chargen might also happen a few times over the course of a deadly campaign, and I have to say that creating a character in about an hour beats creating one over the course of a few hours using a...

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

@coolAlias I just checked my The Dark Eye core rulebook, and it also has 6 pages of character sheet that are much more densely packed.

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

The thing I fdlt most needed improved was the flow of the sheet for character generation purposes. To this end I organized all the different fill boxes to flow from top to bottom and left to right as well as icluded the page references. I also combined inventory, spells and weapons into a...

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

I can make everything closer together and in smaller font along with removing two of the inventory sheets I put in for good measure. I just thought the mock-up for a standard 5e PHB would inspire someone to make an easier to navigate character sheet for the A5E book.

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

Okay, how might I fit all this info on two pages without it feeling cramped? I even took out stuff one would just copy verbatim from the PHB. I guess I'll take it as a challenge!

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

Yo You shouldn't have to write things down more than once. Concerning the 'pp/#' in Background: That's saying just to write the page you find the option on and the reference number for the ideal/bond/flaw/ etc you pick.

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

Well, part of having all the space is so stuff is easier to find, plus there's plenty of room for note-taking and erasing repetitiously as players are wont to do, @tetrasodium .

Level Up (A5E) "Fixing" the wizard to help it's poor imitators

Is there any way for the magic user to or to help the magic user to guard against breaking concentration? Maybe the entire party could be involved in making sure a spell goes off.

Level Up (A5E) A "Quick" Character Generation Sheet

Here's a concept for a Character Generation Sheet that logically flows from top to bottom and left to right to help people create characters the old fashioned way on paper faster than more aesthetically pleasing character sheets (not that this couldn't be prettied up). The attached pdf is based...

    Level Up (A5E) Deadlier combat

Raises hand My DM at the local comic book shop/Adventurers' League has gotten us to concede many fights as 9th level PC in Tomb of Annihilation. Many a time have we had to roll up new PCs, but then again he's an experienced DM and we are all relatively new to D&D. What could make my...

    Level Up (A5E) Deadlier combat

Oh, I didn't know about any of that. Back to the drawing board!

    Level Up (A5E) Deadlier combat

What if we are all focusing on the wrong thing? We could make combat extremely deadly in a number of ways. The problem is that would mean our PCs are dead as random orc #5 (rest their beautiful soul). Maybe instead of worrying about making combat too deadly, we need faster character creation...

Level Up (A5E) What would you *call* an Advanced 5E?

'Ascension of the Fifth Era: Advanced Fantastic Age of the Role-Playing Game!' 'A5E:AFARPG!' for short.

Level Up (A5E) Where to put ability bonuses during character creation

This sounds good: Clade- a group of organisms believed to have evolved from a common ancestor according to a method of classification of animals and plants according to the proportion of measurable characteristics that they have in common.

@Morrus : Do you think my name for it has potential?

Level Up (A5E) Where to put ability bonuses during character creation

Could ancestries have fixed traits like darkvision but also have ones in a table a player roles for? Also could those ASI's be cumulative, like +1 dex each level or every other level. I really like the idea of incorporating more dice roles into character customization and continuing to do...

Level Up (A5E) Do Player Characters Have Average Population Stat Distributions?

Understood. What if we just had randomized bonuses like roll 2d4 and 2d6 of two different colors to determine which of the 6 Ability Scores gets a bonus from 1-4 (double fours and double the results on the d6's means 1 bonus point for all Ability Scores)? That could be fun.
