Who Shot Elminster? No, It's the DALLAS RPG!

You do know you're going to hell for bringing that up, right? Bad tv shows are like toxic waste thanks to re-runs and syndication, they can inflict themselves on people born long after they were produced.

Who Shot Elminster? No, It's the DALLAS RPG!

Someone please shoot me in the head, now. Twice.

Have you ever had a real experience you consider to be supernatural?

Indeed exactly as I saw her when I ceased to accept her 'sainthood' and looked up facts. I was disappointed badly, I wanted to believe in a pureky good person after all the festering bipedal masses of vileness and evil I'd met. But my rational mind won out over my desires in the end.

Have you ever had a real experience you consider to be supernatural?

A person can change their belief, at least I have on occasion. A long time ago I accepted the common belief that mother Teresa was a 'saint', as in a good person. I wanted to believe in good people, really. Well I heard a man on an interview once say she was a ''bat from hell'' and promptly...

Describe a rule from a little known rpg product you like.

"Do not be alarmed this is only a test” was a scenario printed in 1992 for the Battlelords of the 23rd century game. I got it at a convention from a used/old game dealer. It had a rule I've not seen in any other rpg product and I've kept in my GM kit since I read it years back. It dealt with...

Have you ever had a real experience you consider to be supernatural?

Well I meant any experience you'd say had no discernible rational, mundane explanation. Oddly enough I notice some people who seem to decry 'faith' seeming to say there must be a rational, mundane explanation for everything even if no trace of one can be found. Isn't thst a bit like...

Older Settings that Deserve a Another Chance

I don't see anything here about anyone being assassinated, why did you mention that?

Older Settings that Deserve a Another Chance

If you like BR did you know that farscape was based on it? The same idea of a guy from modern earth being flipped into this futuristic setting away from his world and doing the best he can.

No Ghost in the Shell rpg?

Does cyberpunk have complete cyborgs like tge major, bateau, etc? I don't do tbqt setting a lot as it's too depressing. But GitS offers some positives so I like it.

No Ghost in the Shell rpg?

So cowboy bebop is getting a rpg, and I'm fine with that, it's a good setting. But come on guys, GitS isn't getting one? It's way deeper and more detailed than CB, and offers a lot of potential rpg goodness. If anyone here's familiar with GitS, as in the manga, animes, etc I think youll...

    Some inspirational reading.

I've read some good books that might inspire some rpg goodness I want to share with you here. Redliners, by David Drake. What does a ruthless interstellar empire do with soldiers who are too burned out to keep fighting but are too dangerous to send back into civilian life right away? Send them...

Older Settings that Deserve a Another Chance

I'd like to see ICEs original spacemaster setting re-done with a more playable rules system, hobewtly it had the potential to be 'game of thrones ' in space. I thought everything but the system in that game was AAA+ quality. Gurps would make ir run easier, chargen in tge original was very hard...

Games Where Player Characters are the Bad Guys

Hmmm, gotta look that up. Kinda like 40k, where you might murder innocents by the thousands or millions today to save billions later. Exitus acta probat.

Games Where Player Characters are the Bad Guys

When I played the original Deus Ex game I tried to play good guy. I never killed guard dogs, police or unatco troops, I avoided or used non lethal on them. Now when I was going up against MJ12, MIB or violent criminal thugs, yeah, it was Dalek time. So i understand the desire to be a good...

Older Settings that Deserve a Another Chance

I was just reminded of an old setting that could use a modern reboot, it was living steel, a game legendary for quality setting but unplayabke system. And yes i think battlelords would be  perfect for it given birth games emphasised personal tactical conbat in armor in a high tech setting.

    Armor as Damage Reduction

I loved it too. I know there was a post about old games being looked at again, and honestly I'd love to see LS brought back with the same setting in a more playable rules set. And yes I know I'm like a looped MP3 but I think battlelords would be the perfect system to do it in as it focused on...

Games Where Player Characters are the Bad Guys

Wow, this conversation is getting... Interesting. Better get in before it gets locked. The whole 'kill them all and take their stuff' thing has been humanity's default mode for most of human history. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who I admire and follow, just got dragged, justly, for slamming on...

Older Settings that Deserve a Another Chance

T'was I! I also recommend it for traveller. OK, maybe 'the Morrow project''? Given events in Ukraine and a certain russian dictator who seems to be getting more and more like You-know-who all the time I'd say that something like Twilight 2000 just might happen after all. So maybe play it as...

    Traveller?

There are two things I'd like to do with traveller. 1. Run out with the battelords rules. They're a perfect match for traveller IMO. 2. Transhuman traveller. Keep the traveller rules on travel and communication but postulate terran humanity fragmented as factions chafed under some rules and...
