D&D 5E The core issue of the martial/caster gap is just the fundamental design of d20 fantasy casters.

I am, their isnt much difference, just subclasses added, and streamlined some weird stuff like deadly strikes to extra attacks and action surges.

that isnt quite what happened tho, i have all those packets still and been reading. The only thing that changed was they made the subclass system really, and used that to make a simple option, the final versions of that original fighter design and battle master arent that far from different.

    D&D 5E 5e 10/10 Products

Lost Mines. Its legit one of the best starter adventurers in dnd history. Curse of STrahd. Probably one of the best adventures ever made. And thats about it? Maybe Xanathars? but yea.

D&D (2024) Advice on adjudicating the use of Wish in a high-level capstone boss battle (Rappan Athuk spoilers)

Just use the great power bestowed on the DM by the wish spell itself...and say it doesnt work or only works minorly.

D&D 5E The core issue of the martial/caster gap is just the fundamental design of d20 fantasy casters.

So i saw a post by Michael Sayre(A PF2e designer) on Twitter, that talks about the issues with Casters in DnD, This got me thinking about this point to where I reached an interesting point... The core issue with the Martial Caster gap is just, the design of casters in dnd-like games, they...

D&D General Wizard vs Fighter - the math

D&D 5E Do the Monster Building Guidelines Work?

I feel this needs to be in the New DMG becuase it makes 5e monster design ridiculously easy and amazing. Once you realize you can gauge most effects like this and learn the effective damage budget or a monster you can use this to make pretty much anything on the fly.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

Paizo, and Pinnacle comes to mind. I literally just talked to the Creative Producer of Pinnacle and they said they publish more then WoTC does for their games, they dont understand wtf is happening their, but something is off, despite being a fraction of the size.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

IS it an average release schedules? every other RPG developer ive seen and talk too are a fraction of the size of this game, and publish a lot more, and support their games more, i feel like even at this slow cadence they just....dont make much of anything for this game, and are not meeting the...

D&D 5E Do the Monster Building Guidelines Work?

He is right, the issue is the DMG encounter building rules are just broken, using the CR system with Xanathars guide actually works infinitely better its not funny, Xanathars guide is a replacement for it, its why they are using that as the basis for 2024.

D&D 5E Do the Monster Building Guidelines Work?

I got cr22 from from the green dragon. Ive found most MM statblocks to be on point the main thing is the virtual damage stuff you have to account for with conditions, tey value conditions equal to the lowest level spell level they appear in. Doing that fixed quite a bit.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

HE likely does, a Senior lead designer on 5e published under him, and worked on KnW.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

THey why dont they make more of that, even of a slow release schedule if that is the demand, why dont they make more books like that is my question, people say its "because they are good stewards who want wants best for the game" I dont think thats reality, their is a demand for more options and...

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

I actually can see this too, Matt has a lot of faith in developers, espeically since some lead designers in 5e used to work directly under him in MCDM, but i still think something is up really because things about 5e and how its being put out are geniunely odd.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

Youd think so, but i dont think they are actually giving that money to the TTRPG, they are keeping them on that dirt cheap thing becuase they can make more money while investing less in something that matters less, when the big money is in the brand and IP. I dont think the situation has changed...

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

Its not just more books, but what books they are making, if profit is the goal, more player options and more content about stuff like that, would be made more, but...they dont do that, its not profit, its something else.

D&D General Is DnD being mothballed?

My point is, its the best selling RPG ever..and it doesnt look like it, it looks meager, in terms of content, production and releases. And best selling RPG ever i dont think means much to those guys, because they can make more money by just giving away the license, to make a video game and...
