D&D (2024) Wizards of the Coast Backtracks on D&D Beyond and 2014 Content

Tell me you don't support wizards screwing all 5.0 players without saying so. Why do you apologize for wizards?

D&D (2024) Types of Magic - Arcane, Divine, and Primal?

it would be nice if there was actual primal, instead of druids being discount clerics with a few green flavored spells. Druids are still limited by the priest idea that they cannot bring the damage to compete with a sorcerer, so they are just hippy clerics. It would be great if druids were able...

D&D (2024) Wizards of the Coast Backtracks on D&D Beyond and 2014 Content

I think your missunderstanding. There is no "force" to buy. Its increasing friction and making it painful NOT to buy. With the spell thing, you cuold always open the pdfs and see the 5.0 spells, so they weren't "removing" them. Just making it a pita to not upgrade. Same thing, wizards will...

    D&D General Adjusting Constitution

I feel like its communal optimization. the DM will not make encounters that will tpk on purpose. If everyone has medium con, the dm knows that they need to limit damage a bit to not end the party. Everyone gets an advantage for minmaxing your power stat, but not maxing con is just a game with...

D&D (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

its amazing how when they "revised" the game to make 5.5, the rules somehow go even worse

D&D (2024) Wizards of the Coast Backtracks on D&D Beyond and 2014 Content

yes, I tend to find that actual play doesn't work like the whiteboard stuff people talk about online. Everyone wants to make the game work and isn't as focused on maximizing white board bs like they are online

    D&D (2024) Warlock -- initial analyses

Warlock is always the most interesting class because its the only one without the standard 5th ed flavor. There are options for your character to develop into. All other 5th ed classes get 1 choice - subclass and thats it. Warlock allows multiple options to customize your character that all...

D&D (2024) Wizards of the Coast Backtracks on D&D Beyond and 2014 Content

How many times has wizards pulled this crap in the last year or two? This won't be the last, and any apologists for wizards seem pretty out of touch. Either way, this isn't as big as people think. The basic mechanics of the game WILL overwrite in ddb. Exhuastion and all sorts of other little...

D&D 5E was the giant book any good?

aye, i dont mean to say its a dnd specific failing. More that it would be fun if encounters with monsters were more realistic and dangerous. no one is scared about fighting a couple hill giants if your over lvl3. Well, the 20 foot tall guys should be able to rip you in half as an action...

D&D 5E was the giant book any good?

It was interesting, but it didn't do what I hoped. When a 30 foot tall giant hits you with a sword, you should go flying 50ft back, no save. In fact, your should have alot of broken bones as a minimum. Giants should have a movement of like 400, not 30. Why can they only move as fast as a human...

D&D (2024) The changes to languages are a good start

I think the best change would be eliminating common. That ruins any concept of language and culture. Everyone can always talk to everyone, and all other languages are just secret codes that some people know.

    D&D 5E Softening Concentration

I agree that concentration needs to be softened. There are soo many interesting spells that will never be used because they are not an optimal use of your 1 concentration slot. The game could be so much more fun and interesting if all casters had a wider array of spells they could reasonably...

D&D (2024) How D&D Beyond Will Handle Access To 2014 Rules

yea... the thing about them ONLY killing 5.0 spells and items is thats what they are changing SO FAR. They have a good legacy system and could easily mark the 5.0 versions of them as legacy, but they dont want to. This is a very standard marketing strategy in software - making things annoying...

D&D (2024) Current Stealth Rule Actually Works As Is. If Moving Out of Cover After Hiding Makes Enemies Immediately "Finds You", Hide Would Be Totally UNUSABLE.

but rogues can and often "hide" so they can get advantage or move around and such. Stealth is functionly impossible once your not being the wall or in the bushes if we go with this rai. Thats the enormous problem with stealth rules, they are broken and require the dm to pick and choose how they...

D&D (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

I dont see how they can ever be the best. The entire system of 5th ed is designed around multiclassing. Add to this the development is 90% focused on tier 1, and tier 3-4 are utterly ignored. You get amazing abilities front loaded, then go many later levels without getting anything more than 1...

D&D General The Case For High INT Fighters in Dungeons and Dragons

I dream of a world where stats are balanced and they all matter. Int is the biggest dump stat of 5th ed, moreso in 5.5 since artificers didnt make the cut. Take the offensive advantages of dex and give them to int. No stat should be the best offensive and defensive stat at the same time.

D&D (2024) Current Stealth Rule Actually Works As Is. If Moving Out of Cover After Hiding Makes Enemies Immediately "Finds You", Hide Would Be Totally UNUSABLE.

The issue is your doing RAI now instead of RAW. The moment a rogue moves it has "left cover". That makes hiding and sneaking impossible in combat. Thus you are using rai to make the exact same situation ok in one case and not ok in another.

D&D (2024) Current Stealth Rule Actually Works As Is. If Moving Out of Cover After Hiding Makes Enemies Immediately "Finds You", Hide Would Be Totally UNUSABLE.

The OP wrote alot of words to ignore things like: Example 1: a group of 10 cloud giants rolls stealth outside of town. Then they step over the walls and walk into the middle of town. Literally no one is aware of them because they are "hidden". They are taller than buildings, but until they do...

D&D (2024) I love the new changes to Paladin

I Agree that the smite change was a good one. Old smite is a trap. You needed to justify using a spell slot on anything else that is not smite. It was like monk stunning fist. It was soo good you simply could not use other abilities because everything else was worse to use.

    D&D (2024) New stealth rules.

Huh? I'm invalid because I'm "angry" and "dislike 5.5"? lol I thought 5.5 had alot of potential, right up until the actual phb was released. Its only then that we started to see how poorly things were tested. Don't take my opinion, consider that wotc sent lawsuit threats to basically every...
