    No I mean that when the raven is on your shoulder it is incapacitated and invulnerable. When you merge however OP is saying you are invulnerable. I'm saying that if that was true you would also be incapacitated.

    The Raven can take damage while merged. It says that YOU gain the benefits of it being perched on your shoulder(darkvision etc.) not that the Raven gains the benefits of being on your shoulder. Even if this was true you are missing part of it. It would be incapacitated as well as invulnerable so...
