    DnD Shorts final video

One would hope so regardless of any rumours. Working in a large (or any size, really) corporation without unionisation is never the better option.

My thoughts on the new OGL v1.2 draft

I'm flabbergasted that, on returning to these threads again and again, at 10-page intervals or so, people are still confusing OGL publications with branded material.

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

That. The utter public humiliation of Hasbro and WotC sounds like a pretty good goal, too.

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

It seems almost all, perhaps actually all, 3PPs have already walked away. I have not seen anyone willing to accept that WotC have the right to deauthorise 1.0a, nor to agree with the proposed 1.1. or 2.0. So far all the positive takes on WotC's propaganda machine seem to be coming from...

I think I know how the morality clause acceptable(+)

A morality clause (and the creator badge) would be acceptable if there was no "O" in OGL 1.2. That's all.

My thoughts on the new OGL v1.2 draft

This is an important point (one of many) which tends to get overlooked. This is world-wide hobby, though much of the discussion we're seeing is US- and UK-centric (with a smattering of the EU and the antipodes). I have no idea what, if anything, is being said about this in the Far East. One has...

WotC: We Are Not Making AI Dungeon Masters

Yeah, but Disney probably knows better than to sink money into an RPG. ;)

WotC To Give Core D&D Mechanics To Community Via Creative Commons

And do you non-WotC games are generally written poorly? Thank you for your praise of Blueholme, though I expect it will be going away at some stage.

WotC To Give Core D&D Mechanics To Community Via Creative Commons

But so are the specific expressions of the mechanics included under CC. So, again, why would you use those instead of just writing your own versions?

WotC To Give Core D&D Mechanics To Community Via Creative Commons

Well, there wouldn't be any point. They already write all the mechanics from scratch, they just use the SRDs for the names of spells, creatures, magic items, etc. Equally, there's no point in any of these mechanics being CC, they are the most un-copyrightable part of D&D. I mean, the SRDs were...

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

But would a movie dialogue use names for items, spells, or monsters? "Oh, no, Eldarvard, it's a red dragon! Quick, cast Otiluke's Resilient Sphere on the party while I Sneak Attack with my Frost Brand!"

Nice take on publishers' reactions to their livelihood being threatened.

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

So in addition to WotC taking away the OGL 1.0a, what else would you like 3PPs to give up?

I think they got what they wanted

They still have DMs Guild which does exactly what they want without the OGL - full control over content, a very high cut, locking products into their platform. Basically a textbook predatory contract, but it seems to attract quite a high number of creators who just want to produce things for...

D&D Beyond Cancellations Changed WotCs Plans

The fact that this red herring has derailed so many discussions about WotC's de facto licence-grab shows that it was clearly a good point with which to disguise their non-retraction.

Free League Develops Two New Open Game Licenses

My understanding is they've been working on this a while, and the WotC debacle has just accelerated things. The Dragonbane licence was already announced in the Kickstarter.
