Feats haven't been mentioend yet.
This is in. There's a choice of 3 things at each level.
They have expertise dice which appear to do a lot of the heavy lifting of advantage, with 3 levels of granularity (d4, d6, d8).
I was looking at the Gears of Revolution AP on the Zeitgeist website and I was a bit confused about the adventure levels.

Looks good, but I'm not keen on the 'no quirk' bit. If I'm rolling on the quirk table its because I want a quirk. Having a 50% chance of being told 'no quirk' is just frustrating and a waste of my time. I rolled on the quirk table. Give me a quirk!
In core 5E no. You use one ability and one skill like it says in the rules on ability checks.
In A5E dunno, nobody’s seen the rules yet, but I would guess no.
Just like in the second photo, also from the Players Handbook. I think you’re overcomplicating it. Choose whichever you like first as long as the result is a viable check.
