    D&D 5E Dust Devil oddity

I think the Elemental Wizard in Al-Qadim had due to the province of Air. The wizard had it in 4e as well. I'm not surprised that clerics lost the spell because elemental magic doesn't seem to fit cleric that well. Edit: I find it interesting they took it away because how D&D seems to want to...

D&D 5E My favorite race- what I play, what I want to see

My favorite race to play has always been human. Goliath really started to resonate with me after reading 3e Races of Stone and playing them in 4e. There are some interesting books recently that involve tiefling and I played with someone who had a really cool tiefling bard. Though they didn't...

    D&D 5E Which Would You Rather Buy/Use?

Depends. I think I would go with B, but if I was really impressed with the quality of adventures and it is easy enough to strip out setting specific information I could possibly go for C.

D&D 5E How fast do you play D&D?

I generally do a level per adventure which ends up being about a level for every three or four sessions.

D&D 5E Does anyone actually track rations?

I only do it when it matters to the story, the type of adventure dictates how important it will be. Usually used when the adventure has a war theme, and when stranded, lost or fleeing overland were limited supplies are story elements. I'll also track supplies when I see players starting to keep...

    D&D 5E How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

Psionics and magic aren't a whole lot different in this situation because it still removes the martial flavor. That said, I wouldn't mind having an ardent class as an option as well.

    D&D 5E How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

I sit at the opposite extreme. What is most important to me is the flavor, and that it is a legitimate alternative for either bard, cleric or druid. I don't really care as much about the mechanically beyond it not being similar to spellcasting.

D&D 5E How Many in your Group?

The largest group I have ever had is 9, and it got crazy because it was 4e. I started letting the players split the party and just handed out monsters and NPCs to the players who didn't have a PC present during any given scene. In some ways, it worked pretty well. I never had players paying...

D&D 5E How Many in your Group?

My groups are Monday 5-6 PCs, Tuesday 3-4 PCs, Wednesday 5-7 PCs & Thursday 3 PCs. Though my Monday group had spiked up to 9 before some external issues cause it to shrink down to 5.

D&D 5E Why do you play 5e? What game did you come from?

As a DM I followed the path of 1e/2e -> 4e -> 5e. As a player it 4e -> 5e -> 3.5/PF/5e. I actually started playing PF and 3.5 after 5e. One group voted for 3.5 when I wasn't there. The other, I was the only person who didn't vote for PF. Most of my 5e fix comes from online gaming. Edit: Only...

D&D 5E Do you have fights that are *supposed* to happen?

This was an odd question to answer. I would have a different answer if it was GM (instead of DM). I don't think I have had a player play a pacifist in D&D for any reason other than for a mechanical gain. D&D would be very low on my list for players that don't want combat.

    D&D 5E How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

I explained why I think it is a strong argument. You are free to disagree, but the rest of the post already answers the questions your asking.

    D&D 5E How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

Bruenor didn't start out as a king; he did become king (more than once I believe). He didn't become a king and then become a leader; he was a leader first. I am not going to argue for or against a thing someone else wants. I don't have any particular need for 4e mechanics specifically in 5e...

    D&D 5E How many fans want a 5E Warlord?

Sorry for jumping into the conversation in the middle. I'm not sure what sources you would qualify as valid, so I don't know if I could offer five you would consider acceptable... That said, Bruenor Battlehammer (Salvatore) and Clanless Mehen (Erin M. Evans) are characters who provide...

D&D 5E What technology do you own that you are willing to bring to the table?

I prefer to use my tablet or phone because I want to keep all my information in the cloud so I don't have to worry about grabbing the wrong notebook or accidently leaving it behind. I use pencil and paper when learning a new system because writing helps me learn things faster. Otherwise pen and...

    D&D 5E Likes and Dislikes?

Like. With a few exceptions I like most of 5e. The big winners for me are Backgrounds, the Artwork & Monster Manual. Dislike. Monsters having spell lists. The design of The Fighter. I have mixed feelings about how open the rules are to DM interpretation, however I think it is good for the most...

D&D 5E How do you feel about the Forgotten Realms?

I like many of the later authors (Erin Evan) and I think a lot of what Ed Greenwood does, other than his novels, are great.
