D&D (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Nope. This is what you get when you combine a kobold with a wyvern. Wyverns in PF1 have the Dragon type. So, Wyvarans are Half-Dragon Kobolds.

This is a Wyvaran from Pathfinder 1st edition. They're thought to be a fusion of Kobolds and Wyverns. Wyvernborn? ;)

I thought so too when I first saw that one. If that one had been a Warforged, it would have one of House Cannith's Juggernaut models. Now it just reminds me of a technomagic version of Iron Man.

And rolls for both Perception and Insight. They better roll high for both.

Or the individual who lost their head. We could be looking at a fight between a Marilith (a Fiend) and some Einherjar (Petitioners from Ysgard/Celestials). If so, the latter will eventually come to in Valhalla and drink and boast about the fight to their peers.

It's the same story for someone who puts out a commission for an artist to work. The designer can go all out on the written description of the art piece, but it's the artist who has to take those words and tie them to the image forming in their heads. Sometimes they get the designer's intent...

D&D Launches New Eberron-Themed Playtest With Dragonmarked Feats

True. Lately I have been musing about the Genasi and @Xeviat 's Elementalist class for Level Up. A couple of their 5e traits resemble some of that class's 1st-level Adaptations. I keep wondering if it's possible to give them something more without them being crafted for just that class. I...

D&D (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I have been looking and participating in this thread mostly out of curiosity. I am not really bothered by how the Marilith looks in 5.5. I believe that WoTC had a particular reason for making them look this way compared to how they looked in previous editions. But I also believe that WoTC isn't...

D&D Launches New Eberron-Themed Playtest With Dragonmarked Feats

Maybe. The Monsters of the Multiverse book had it where the Aasimar was stuck with one of the three options for Celestial Revelation. This feature was later revised in 5.5 so that an Aasimar could freely switch between the options per long rest. If Genasi do appear in 5.5e, I want them to have...

I was thinking the written and the art could both be the primary source instead of it being one or the other.

I could see this being the case. I wonder if there will be a nod to the Genasi nation of Akanul.

It could be both the written and the art. Someone writes up their concept of what the Marilith ought to look like for a particular edition of an RPG, and then some artist takes that writing and tries to create artwork from it.

Most likely. I am curious about how 5.5e will portray the Genasi this time around.

D&D (2024) Weapon masteries should really be linked to weapon properties, not to specific weapons!

It would be equally nice if a martial with a fighting style could unlock new abilities with the fighting style they already have as they level up. If your martial picked Two-Weapon Fighting as their fighting style at 1st or 2nd level, then they ought to get something at key levels that let them...

They could if WoTC made them more like the Ironborn (In the Company of Monsters by Rite Publishing) https://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/3rd-party-races/rite-publishing/ironborn/ Ironborn are a race of constructed humanoids which possess unique racial abilities determined by the purpose they were...
