D&D 5E Kung Fu Panda: How do wildshape and monk class abilities interact?

I would definitely let apes make an unarmed monk attack as a bonus action. It would be 1d4+Str or Dex. I prolly would let bears do it too, call it a head butt or elbow blow. A monk trained beast would figure out some way to leverage his training in his new form. Besides, a bonus action attack...

    D&D 5E Preview 3: Rings

The ring of spell storing is tailor made for warlocks! Woot woot!

    D&D 5E Eldritch Knight spells

But remember... Fighters have Con prof. Combine with high Con and Warcaster and you will mostly keep up concentration. Blur is just too good to pass up, even if it is concentration.

    D&D 5E Eldritch Knight spells

I think that Shield is the best spell for the EK. It just means that Warcaster is pretty much mandatory at level 4. A sword and board EK in plate with Heavy Armor Master and busting out Shield when necessary is prolly the best tank in the game. Don't forget the Bladeward and bonus attack combo...

    D&D 5E Eldritch Knight spells

Yeah, pure wizards start really slow. That is part of the whole wizards are quadratic equation. I found that I was quite effective combatant at low levels, but I was mostly shooting my longbow. Gotta love elf weapon proficiencies.

D&D 5E Hlow good are archers in 5e?

Sharpshooter for the win. In our game whenever the Rangers turn pops up we hear, "Go for the head shot!" From the peanut gallery.

    D&D 5E Eldritch Knight spells

Unless you use a one handed weapon without a shield, you need Warcaster to cast spells with verbal and somatic components. You cannot cast VS spells as a reaction while wielding a two handed sword. On your turn, you can hold the two handed sword with one hand and use the other hand for somatic...

D&D 5E Sell me on Wizards

Why are you comparing a level 11 ability to a level 9 ability? The proper comparison is Quivering Palm to Power Word Kill.

But Blur is available way before haste. And greater invisibility is never seen by most EK in play. Basically, you need something for levels 8-12, and that something is blur.

Don't you need Warcaster in order to cast shield?

    D&D 5E Eldritch Knight spells

Blur is far and away the best choice for the 8th level spell. Mirror image just doesn't last long enough

D&D 5E Sell me on Wizards

In my experience, Hold Person is really amazing. The key is coordinating the spell with Melee attackers. Cast hold person and laugh all the way to the bank while the monk flurry of blows with autocrits. At our table we changed the name to the Crit the S$&/ spell.

D&D 5E Spells: the Good, the Bad, and the Downright Orcish Grandmother

I too think that is rad. If you get fifth level slots, start the day casting hex and eating a worm. Then you rest for an hour and get your spell slot back.

    D&D 5E Flanking

I still like the four to one gang up giving advantage. It properly models the benefits of a mob imo

D&D 5E Spells: the Good, the Bad, and the Downright Orcish Grandmother

Cough, fireball, cough, cough. It's always been my favorite spell, but holey moley it is a doozy in 5e. It makes me so happy, especially after it basically took 4e off. Also, Bless is, pound for pound, the best concentration spell in the game. With the right party (sharpshooters and great...

    D&D 5E Flanking

I also changed my approach. I now ignore flanking and instead give advantage if someone is totally surrounded. Basically, four on one for a medium creature. Six to one for large. Eight to one for huge. Bigger than huge gets no effect.

D&D 5E How Much Would You Pay for Digital Access?

I liked the annual fee and I get the toys model of DnD 4e. Honestly, I would prolly be willing to pay quite a bit per year... But that is mostly because I subsidize lots of freeloading players in multiple play groups. Prolly $300 a year is my max if it is good stuff. $100 a year otherwise.

    D&D 5E Must-have bard spells?

Definitely misreading faerie fire. The effect is persistent. The area only matters for the initial targeting. It is a great spell. Targeting can be tricky, but you are helped greatly by it being a cube as opposed to a sphere. You can target it on just the other side of your Melee allies...

    D&D 5E Flanking

I never thought about the game slowing cost of flanking. Interesting

D&D 5E Can you concentrate on a spell while resting?

Me too. Double thanks. Also... Totally using a bag full of worms.
