D&D (2024) If Your Builds Not Online By Level 6 Dont Bother?

This is not remotely true, you can absolutely be invested in your offline character build between DnD sessions and then be completely focused on what happens at the table during DnD sessions. They aren't even happening at the same time - how can you think these are exclusive? That's totally...

D&D General How would you feel if Official Adventures only covered 3 levels?

I agree that publishing a full book about a particular Sandbox campaign is difficult for the reasons you mention. Publishing anthology adventures that can be plopped into homebrew Sandbox campaigns is much easier and seems to be what WotC has been doing more regularly

D&D (2024) If Your Builds Not Online By Level 6 Dont Bother?

First level is like the tutorial. You start there if you've never played the game before. Otherwise you skip it and start later. I typically start campaigns at Level 2 even with brand new players.

D&D General How would you feel if Official Adventures only covered 3 levels?

When I'm playing or DM'ing I ideally want a cohesive campaign from 1-20, or starting later / ending earlier if the group doesn't want to commit to that length of playing time. For a published adventure, I prefer short lengths that are easy to drop into pre-existing campaigns. My favorites are...

D&D 5E To Be or Not to Be: Legendary

Replacing Legendary Actions with increased damage on its turn works perfectly fine. Some people may prefer the unpredictability of spreading out its damage, others may prefer streamlining it all into one turn. In the end it's six of one, half dozen of the other. My only concern would be...

D&D (2024) Is Vicious the new Bloodclaw?

I think it needs changing, by adding attunement.

D&D 5E What If Everyone Could Use Scrolls? (House rule)

That's a ribbon feature, the real reason people play Thief is for Fast Hands utilizing magic items as a bonus action and for 4 attunement slots. I can't imagine anyone actually caring if this feature is "given away", if anything it buffs the Thief Rogue the most from being able to access this...

D&D (2024) Fighter, support and defense builds

Depending on your table it might be worth talking to your DM about whether they would allow giving your inspiration to others as a homebrew modification. It's not allowed per the rules but it's also not particularly overpowered, especially if you modified it to only work on others and never on...

D&D General What races/species populate your DnD world?

I keep things 100% by the book, meaning that every race published in a WotC 5e book is included (not including third party content). (I do put a homebrew nerf on Aarakocra, Fairy, Owlin, and variant Tiefling to change their flight similar to 2024 Aasimar Heavenly Wings ability... which is close...

D&D General Would You Buy an RPG Product Printed on a Gutenberg Press?

Does look more like satire to me than sarcasm. Either way I have no idea what point they're trying to make

D&D General Do You Play Out Every Combat?

Why does the encounter even exist if the goblins have no chance and it's not part of a storyline? My direct answer to your question is that we play out every combat but we would never include a pointless combat like the one you describe. Any time there is a pointless combat (like say a PC goes...

Dragon Delves to Return to Godsbreath, a Journey Through the Radiant Citadel Setting

Correct, it is meant to be an anthology of separate standalone adventures that can be run as one-shots or dropped into other campaigns. Whenever they make these anthologies, nothing would stop a DM from stringing them together into an overarching campaign, but it definitely takes some work to do so

Dragon Delves to Return to Godsbreath, a Journey Through the Radiant Citadel Setting

Please point to where I said it was weird. All I said was that it surprised me because it was not the most obvious choice. That's a pretty bland statement and I don't get why you're acting like I'm being critical or controversial here. To quote the actual author in her description of the...

D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

Not sure what you mean by that, why wouldn't we play 5e? It's not like 5e is some simplistic game without any parameters to optimize

D&D (2024) Multiclassing: Slots and Prepared Spells

There have been so many replies already so maybe this is clear already, but just in case there's still any confusion my recommendation is go whip up a quick dummy character on DnD Beyond and check it out. Understanding the actual calculations is so much more difficult than just letting the...

    D&D 5E City of Arches-Perfect 5e Setting

Exactly what I was wondering in terms of comparisons to the Radiant Citadel. I need to check this new book out!

D&D Errata Nerfs Conjuring Spells, Makes Other Changes

Meaning they were happy that the spells would be unbanned and allowed at their tables now? These nerfs are a huge buff to Optimizers because now DMs might actually allow CME to be used

Dragon Delves to Return to Godsbreath, a Journey Through the Radiant Citadel Setting

No one said there can't be dragons there. I don't know why you keep pretending like I said that.

Dragon Delves to Return to Godsbreath, a Journey Through the Radiant Citadel Setting

Yeah I guess that's the entire logic right there. Purely based on which author was hired to write the new adventure and nothing to do with Godsbreath making sense as a dragon adventure. They picked a good author to return (at least based on their Written In Blood adventure) so that's as good a...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

The ethical concerns are definitely legit, I'm not dismissing those at all. I still don't think it's realistic though for anyone to think they'll "Never" buy AI enhanced products at any point in the future unless they're planning to become a hermit off the grid The sad reality is that...
