D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

At the risk of derailing this thread, I feel like the Exhaustion mechanic would be better with the following changes: A) Levels 1-5 - each level of Exhaustion requires a Short Rest to recover from. A Long Rest clears all levels of Exhaustion. B) Level 6 - rather than death, instead causes the...

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

In theory, that sounds like a perfectly acceptable idea. In practice, that’s what made so many people dislike the 2014 Berserker’s Frenzy mechanic.

    D&D (2024) The 7 5.5e FRPG Subclasses Survived

Oh that’s right. It’s been so long that I completely forgot about them. Maybe they took those 8 and pared them down to 7.

D&D (2024) Is it possible to balance the six abilities?

Interesting chart! I feel like I would have done the mental abilities differently: Power = Intelligence Precision = Wisdom Which I suppose would leave Endurance = Charisma by process of elimination, although I’m still working through that one in my noggin.

D&D General Would You Buy an RPG Product Printed on a Gutenberg Press?

Steve Gutenberg is not a heretic. In fact, he made some delightfully entertaining movies back in the day. And recently, he was bravely aiding in evacuating residents during the California wildfires.

Correction, you don’t Like it. Now go look up Like in the Rules Glossary.

    Strange thread behavior?

I was busy all day yesterday and hadn’t been keeping up with the forums. I jumped on this morning and none of the threads are bold (indicating they have new, unread posts), despite them saying there were recent posts earlier this morning. I verified that I’m logged into my account 🤷🏻‍♂️...

    D&D (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

I’m still scratching my head as to why they reorganized the MM in the first place. The 2014 listing was perfectly fine. Jeremy mentioned how people didn’t know to look in Oozes for a Gelatinous Cube? Well flip to pages 351-352 and there’s a handy little Index of Stat Blocks which is listed in...

D&D General A little labor of love for the day after Valentine’s Day, plus a quick survey.

I also voted for Wonderland 2e24. For some reason, that world always pops into my head when I think of the Feywild. I know it doesn’t quite involve faeries, but it still has that bizarre, manic vibe to it.

Critical Role To Wrap Up Third Campaign, New Exandria Unlimited Miniseries Announced

It’s funny you mention that. I’ve watched everything Critical Role has put out (including the Burger King game), but the Monsterhearts video was the only one I couldn’t finish. I guess I’m just too old to deal with high school drama.

Critical Role To Wrap Up Third Campaign, New Exandria Unlimited Miniseries Announced

As much as I love Critical Role, this finale felt like the ending to The Return of the King. It easily could have wrapped up several times throughout the 8 1/2 hour episode, but it would suddenly pick back up again and drag on.

    D&D General Are You There D&D? It's Me, J.R.R. Tol-KEEEEN!

I can’t believe this thread is creeping up on 200 posts with no actual original post. I’m starting to think Snarf never intended to post anything and this is all a social experiment.

D&D General Which video game monster have you used in your game?

Shining Force! I loved that game when I was growing up. I had a Nintendo, but my friend had a Sega Genesis and he had Shining Force, as well as it's predecessor Shining in the Darkness, and another game called Sword of Vermilion. He preferred the latter two, but I was obsessed with Shining...
