D&D 5E Mage Hand + Lay On Hands = ranged heal?

I'm trying to optimize a Paladin healer. Can a Paladin with access to the Mage Hand cantrip use it to apply Lay On Hands to heal at range?

    D&D 5E Optimize a Sprite build

Bringing this conversation back now that Volo's is out. As was said before, you'd have to sacrifice your main action each turn to make this work, but it would work. What are the best race options for this build? I'm not sure it's worth a 6 level sorcerer dip anymore for Bend Luck. I'd probably...

Druid +Mobile+killer whale =Awesome (suggestions on wild shape)

What the actual f*ck. EDIT: I'm not positive this would actually work... "Your game statistics are replaced by the statistics of the beast..." p67. Speed is a stat so...

D&D 5E Ritual Caster vs. Magic Initiate vs. Warlock dip for Dex Paladin (Ancients)

SCAG cantrips are really, really strong. Seems like most players don't know about them. Or have heard of them but never used them. Ritual Caster is nice for casters to free up spell slots, but for a melee-centric character, I lean towards Magic Initiate. Paladin is in a weird spot though...

Volo's Guide to Monsters -- three best PC races for character optimization?

Why do bugbears get stealth anyway? Did they get stealth-like traits in other editions?

What multiclass builds would benefit the most from a Lore Bard 3 dip?

Cutting Words is strong as hell. What multiclasses would benefit from dipping 3 levels into Lore Bard? Maybe Sorcerers, Wizards, and Warlocks to have access to healing spells? Anything else?

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

I don't like that strict interpretation... DnD is supposed to be fun and reward creativity. If you don't want me to conjure a bucket with my grease then fine, but how much grease counts as one item?

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

I'd argue that I could conjure a kit. Everything is made up of parts. If you can conjure a hat made of cotton with a leather trim and a feather poking out the side, you're combining several objects. A bag of ball bearings or a bucket of grease or a sandwich or even a pair of dice are technically...

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

I don't care much about the difference between 16 DEX and 18 DEX. I would care a lot more about missing a feat that's crucial for this build. Warcaster might be useful, depending on playstyle, but it might not be necessary. The conjuration ability isn't a spell that requires Concentration. The...

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

Awesome breakdown, Acorn. I guess High Elf and Rogue first is the way to go. I think I'll take a 3rd level of Wizard at 6 since it would double my spell slots and give me access to level 2 spells, which is much more beneficial than another level of Rogue. Most groups don't even make it to level...

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

Only official stuff, no UA. High Elf sounds like a solid choice. I'd love to try out one of the new Volo races, but I haven't looked through the book yet. Mine just arrived! Don't the cat people/bird people get DEX and INT too?

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

How would you build the first 5 levels? What races are best? What feats are good for this combo?

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

I'd have fun doing either honestly. I think a Thief with Find Familiar, Jump, and Catapault has some potential, especially that last one when combined with my ability to conjure any item.

    Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3

I decided to make my next character a Conjuration Wizard 2/Thief Rogue 3. I want to be able to conjure items and use them as bonus actions on the same turn. So many fun possibilities. I need help optimizing this though. Any suggestions as to where I should go from here? Should I go with Thief...

    Portent vs. Lucky

Portent lets you replace enemy d20 rolls too, not just your own............. That's insanely powerful. Use low Portent rolls to make an enemy fail a crucial saving throw, prevent a critical hit against you, or flat out miss an attack, etc. I'd go for Portent.

    Immovable Monk: Homebrew Monastic Tradition

Immovable Rods are essentially clubs, which are monk weapons, so why not incorporate them into Kung Fu? I created a new Monastic Tradition based on that idea. Here's what I got: Monastic Tradition: Immovable Monk Level 3: Upon choosing this monastic tradition at level 3, you gain the following...

D&D 5E [5e DM Help] Keeping the lid on....what builds should I NOT allow?

I would allow everything honestly. No build is 'broken'. Some don't really make sense though... Common bullsh*t builds: Paladin 5/Warlock 3 for extra spell slots and non-stop smiting. His deity would abandon him if he sold his soul for power... Moon Druid X/Monk 1 for the AC boost. Kung Fu...

    Pretending to be a Paladin

I like characters like this. I would only take 1 level of Fighter though for the Heavy Armor and Fighting School. Warlock Pact of the Blade gets its own Extra Attack and I think delaying your main job's progression too much isn't a good idea. Maybe after you get Extra Attack you can go Fighter...

Do Dragonborn Moon Druids get to use their Breath Weapons while Wild Shaped? Do they benefit from their Damage Resistance while Wild Shaped?
