    Swordmage Woes

Nice catch Masks, I always appreciate your input. I'm not too worried about having low defensive stats; our party is made up of a paladin, a cleric, a barbarian, a warlord, a wizard (spiral tower), and I, so we are all pretty much melee and/or defense oriented.

    Swordmage Woes

Thanks for all the help man, I really appreciate it. As for my defensive stats, if you're interested, they are as follows: AC 10 Base, 5 Half level, 3 Hide armor, 6 INT, 2 Enh, 3 Swordmage feature, 29 total. FORT 10 Base, 5 Half level, 3 CON, 1 Racial, 2 Enh, 21 total. REF 10 Base, 5 Half...

    Swordmage Woes

*Sigh*. Alright, the following is mostly going to be a bunch of math questions, but some will directly apply to being a Swordmage. If you aren't in the mood to answer questions, that's totally cool and you can ignore this. Otherwise, I'd like to thank you in advance for helping me. P.S. Mods...

    Halivar's Character Sheet Overhaul

Spiffy sheet man, wanted to thank you for taking the time to make it. I got as far as changing ability scores (so not far at all) before I encountered a problem. The default point buy on your sheet is set to 32, whereas the standard for 4E is 22. How would you change this? Would you change one...

    Fighter Bonus Feat

In the three games I'm in, the two other DM's and myself have house-ruled that skills work like so: You must take the skill "named" in the skill list (ex. Clerics must take Religion, Rangers must take Dungeoneering or Nature). The rest are chosen from the entire list of skills--no class skill...

Bracers of the Perfect Shot and Eldritch Blast

Bracers of Mighty Striking + Horned Helm + Rogue W/Combat Adv + Charge (Basic Attack) = Win.

How often do DMs draw opportunity of attack

It really depends on the NPC's the DM is running. For simplicity, I lay out the "tactical intelligence" of a monster into one of three categories: Animal-Very Low intelligence: Doesn't use a whole lot of tactics. A really stupid non-animal might try to work his way around a target if they have...

Warlock - Multiple Cursed targets and damage

You didn't fully read my post. I'm referring to one of the Ranger's paragon paths, Battlefield Archer. They have the following Paragon path feature, page 113 of the PH: Battlefield Experience (11th level): You can designate more than one creature as your quarry at a time, up to a number equal...

Warlock - Multiple Cursed targets and damage

Bumping to see if I can get an answer, if not, I'll just make a new thread tonight.

    Free Rituals

Wow... this is amazing. You've completely removed the need for gold to buy loot with, and yet it's not clunky or (visibly) unbalanced. I am going to assume you've done the math on this, because It's 8 AM and I have yet to sleep, and don't want to check it myself :). If you wouldn't mind showing...

    New Power Sources

Alright, bare with me on this. This idea stemmed from FF Tactics (stay with me), and in particular, the newer GBA/DS versions (stay! :P). That system involved NPC's called Judges whose powers were based off of adjucating laws, laying out punishment/jailtime, and observing battles for...

    Standing from prone, no OA?

Good point. Didn't consider sticky defenders and their advantages with prone-ness.

    Standing from prone, no OA?

A player brought to my attention that standing from prone no longer draws an OA. Sure enough, after looking it up in the PH, page 290, it only states movement out of a threatened square, ranged attacks, and area attacks draw OAs. Is this for simplicity? Balance? Am I wrong? Any ideas?

Warlock - Multiple Cursed targets and damage

I figured this would be a good place to ask this, as it pertains to the Ranger's Quarry ability, which is similar to the Warlock's Curse. The Ranger paragon path Battlefield Archer is able to designate multiple enemies as their quarry at a time (4, in my case). Since a ranger can normally only...

Ranger's Dire Wolverine Strike w/ differing weapon damage

This is a perfect example of RAW vs. common sense. It seems the only purpose the "Must be wielding two weapons" serves is to limit players from using 2H weapons, but there is no need to further limit then in how they use their (1H or OH) weapons. I would (and will) house rule that the "multiple...

D&D 4E Completed 4e Druid (Updated 7/11, New Items; More Versatile)

Thanks for the feedback. I have a few follow up questions, and a few new ones after reading ahead in the powers. I'm gonna figure out the math here, because I don't think you quite answered my wep. prof. question. I have 21 Str, and a +3 Shortsword at level 11. So that's +5 from half level...

D&D 4E Completed 4e Druid (Updated 7/11, New Items; More Versatile)

(First off, forgive me for not putting these questions in a spoiler box to save space, I don't know how to do that.) Hey malcolm, I've been following this homebrew since conception and wanted to give my thanks for making such an awesome class. I'm going to be playing in an 11th level campaign...

    My Next Adventure: Feedback Please

I read your first post, and it seems well thought-out. Obviously you are tying Christianity into D&D, which I have no problem with (doesn't concern me anyways). However, I'd check with your players to make sure they are okay with it. I have no idea how old you are, but if you are still in your...

    Dozens of Minions, Bad Idea?

My players recently fought a minion battle. They were all first level. Players: Dragonborn Paladin Elven Rogue Human Wizard Human Cleric Dwarven Ranger Dwarven Fighter They fought two waves of sahuagin minions, which I lowered from level 6 to level 2, using the rules in the DM's guide. They...
