    D&D 5E Is 5e the Least-Challenging Edition of D&D?

There's a difference between the challenge of each edition and the lethality of them. I don't think the challenge has differed much from 3.5 to 5th, but the lethality has went down across 3.5/4/5 compared to older.

    D&D 5E Is 5e the Least-Challenging Edition of D&D?

In relation to placing any negative game impact on the GM instead of the player's actions, yes, it's the generation.

    D&D 5E Is 5e the Least-Challenging Edition of D&D?

That's not the game. That's the current generation of players.

    D&D 5E Field Notes: 5e character journals

Apparently a print shop right down the street from me is doing these now. I'm planning on picking up a pair to see how they work out, but I really like the look of them. https://fieldnotesbrand.com/products/5e-character-journal

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

Pretty cool fact is Rule Zero(in print) is nearly as old as the game. In Basic D&D, the book says on the first page: "Anything in this booklet (and other D&D booklets) should be thought of as changeable -- anything, that is, that the DM thinks should be changed... The purpose of these 'rules'...

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

I'm of the same mind on this. One of my players was starting off DMing with a module last year(Each friend at my table runs a campaign and we just rotate depending on schedules). We all pitched in to help him get parts of the module in order and had long discussions during the game of how to...

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

And that is 100% your opinion and the opposite of my own. Feel free to keep replying to everyone that disagrees with your method and beat a dead horse, as you have done for 27 pages of this topic. This is a fundamental difference in how we approach things and what we expect from and get out of a...

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

I see no mistakes in the example, just parts to a game that are meant to be malleable. I'm also comfortable with it being that way and my group thoroughly enjoys that method over the Iron Fist grognard style. We've moved away from that years ago and are a much happier table.

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

Sometimes those are the most memorable situations in a campaign. When you look at your players, scratch your head and smile.

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

I don't understand the DM did something wrong to constitute a fudge mindset. Generally, it has nothing at all to do with the DM. If a DM has a long, fun 0-session(of course beers) with your party, planning characters out, tying together backgrounds and future goals, and your first conflict is 3...

Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana - Subclasses 2 [UPDATED]

Well, that sucks. I was really interested to read about Clockwork Soul.

D&D General No Fixed Location -- dynamically rearranging items, monsters, and other game elements in the interests of storytelling

In my opinion, this is the correct way to DM a game. I've played for decades, through many types of game masters and 99.9% of players I've DMed with or played alongside prefer this. The brutal, this is the law DMs are by far the worst I've ever had the (not)privilege to play with. Not only that...

D&D General Settling Down And Making A Place Home

I would do something similar with a map, but I like to leave some wiggle room so I can move a hook or npc where ever I need, or move an entire village. The great part of DMing is everything is malleable.

WotC Brand New D&D Video Game from WotC's New Acquisition Tuque Games

I don't agree. There's nothing stopping a first person rpg from being as RP intensive or elaborate as an isometric/tactical/3rd person RPG. I like to think first person is more true to form of tabletop play. That being said, when I see classic D&D game, I don't think of Baldurs Gate. I think...

With them creating an FPS previously, maybe they are going in an Elder Scrolls type direction.

    Destiny & WOIN?

I've been looking at some fan rpg creations for the Destiny game and got a little excited thinking about Destiny powered by WOIN. Who else thinks this would be a pretty cool idea for EN Publishing to explore? With Bungie now a separate entity, there might not be a better time for a license...

"Stream of Many Eyes" -- WotC To Announce New Storyline In June

Undermountain is under Mt Waterdeep, which also holds Skullport, a massive trade center for the underdark and also a spelljammer port. And psionics were a regular thing with some of the spelljamming races. Some of the creatures of Tome of Foes make me think this might all be a possibility.
