i think this is an awesome story, i feel for that kid, i can just imagine him not having experienced a lot and still able to come up with something pretty gnarly and very inspirational of story points and interesting ideas. makes me proud to support 5e and the hobby as a whole.

i agree happyhermit, to suggest being a cheerleader for a hobby you are passionate about as a negative is kind of ass backwards to me. if you sink time into a hobby, man i hope you are enjoying it and want to see it enjoyed and broadened. yes you should criticize and strive to make it better...

why does it matter if it's misleading or not, the general consensus is that D&D is doing well, gaming as a hobby is up, and that is good all around, for competitors, stores, and players all around. i get not trusting numbers and understanding that some things are just PR to promote good tidings...
