Do you play in games you aren't enjoying?

I game with my brother and two close friends. If someone doesn't like what we're doing, we'll talk to the guy and a) change it b) take a break c) modify it to fix his problems. We have the good fortune to have an amazing GM, and no angry rules-lawyers/munchkins. If I was playing with a group...

    First GURPS game

Combat requires maybe 3 more calculations then DnD3.5 (Hit, Defence Roll, Damage Roll, Subtract DR, multiply by damage modifier) After one of two combats, it won't be any more complicated then DnD combat. Then you add things like hit location as you become more comfortable with the system...

WH40K (M&M): Agents of the Inquisition

"As you wish" Blake tapped the vox bead in his ear and spoke quietly into it "Team one, this is Blake. We've found information at the Medicae thats leads us to believe there may be a Chaos cult involved. Over" He turned back to Aridha "Don't you think we might be jumping to conclusions?"

WH40K (M&M): Agents of the Inquisition

Blake nods. "Understood". He smiles "Lets all try not to get into trouble on the first day.". He pats the top of his pistol, resting in its quick draw holster on his right leg. (OOC: Blake's wearing dirty civvies over his bodysuit, and all his obvious stuff - like his rifle, mask, etc, is in his...

Agents of the Inquisition, Warhammer40K (recruiting)

Agent Blake is under your command, Shayuri. He takes orders from you, not anyone else on the team.

WH40K (M&M): Agents of the Inquisition

Blake walked down the lift's ramp, directly behind and to the right of Aridha, taking in the scene with one attentive glance. He absently runs his hand across his shaved head (his helmet safe in his backpack along with his disassembled rifle). He watches Kai and the ganger talk with apparent...

    POLL: Furry Races

Only Minotaurs and Gnolls, and suchlike. Cat people, anthro animals, etc make me angry.

    Give me your ogre fluff

Much like LOTR Trolls, only they are native to Erinoth, rather then being made from other species with black magic. However, they are still the big, strong, dumb, evil ogres we all know and love, only with scales. They live too far away from large nations to be a threat, but they prey on small...

Agents of the Inquisition, Warhammer40K (recruiting)

Tis 2125 hours! Can we safely say it will start tomorrow? (Or have a missed a thread in Playing the Game?)

    101 Magic Items nobody needs.

Just to add Rich Burlew's illustrated ideas :)

    Best single volume RPG?

GURPs 4e is two smaller books, but I guess that doesn't count. In that case, probably A Game of Thrones or Spycraft 2.0. Both great books, though our group is slipping away from D20 (!)

What do players want from a homebrew?

But the 15th century had guns... It's not plate-hate, it's just that I like playing in a setting thats lower tech then the DnD baseline (13th century). I have no problem with playing a guy in plate armor, just not in my current setting.Thats all.

What do players want from a homebrew?

It's been known to make me cry. ;) It's fine, as long as its a "not very realistic" fantasy, the sort where all the bad guys have full plate armor, yet it doesn't actually offer them any protection. But in my standard fantasy world, plate is a non-no (and probably the biggest one, along with...

What do players want from a homebrew?

    1) Tolkien-esqe fantasy. My group (and me) can't stand steampunk, pulp magic, airships (though airships could work...somewhat), and especially anything anime or Japanese martial arts film related. 2) Some magic, enough that wizards aren't an unknown thing, but not as much as say, Forgotten...

How do you visualize your gameworld?

Combat is semi-realistic, like the Lord of the Rings movies, but since the playing field between players and guards is more even, there's no "Sir Bob hacks his way through 12 orcs!" (Even though there are no orcs in my setting). There's alot of blood and death and player characters going...

Agents of the Inquisition, Warhammer40K (recruiting)

Only the eldar have something really close to an effective stealth field. (And the Vindicare assassins, but hell, they probably just stole the idea...). Since not everyone is a stealth nut, I don't think its that big of a deal. You could make the plasma gun autofire capable, maybe? Add something...

    What are you currently using?

Playing: (my) Homebrew low-magic world. I'm great and making worlds, plots, and NPCs. But GMing them? Not so much. So we have the designated group GM do it.

Agents of the Inquisition, Warhammer40K (recruiting)

You're attack is +10, but the power level is 9, so thats +1 too much there, unless I'm mistaken about some obscure rule. For skills and feats, I'd be a close combat guy. We've got me as a sniper, we've got a gunslinger and a Battle Sister for close up blasting, and while me and the battle sister...

Agents of the Inquisition, Warhammer40K (recruiting)

I didn't use ultimate power for my character and he's fine in my book. I wouldn't worry about it.
