Mass Effect - "the" Xbox360 title to get

Notice how class talents only have 6 levels while every other one has 12? A specialization class adds on those 6 other levels, but gives you different bonuses (you keep the original class bonuses). Each class can select from two different specialization classes (spoilering it, just in case)...

    Refurbished Xbox 360s...

Hmm, no, i don't think you can for title updates. (MS's euphemism for patches.) That said, i don't think there are any games out there with absolutely game-breaking, renders-the-entire-thing-unplayable bugs, so you should be ok. Oblivion has some pretty nasty bugs, but i think the newest...

    Refurbished Xbox 360s...

Despite having my 360 since February, i just registered my system earlier this week. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/?WT.svl=nav System registration is on the right. Batteries last somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 hours, i'd guess. It's long enough that i can't really give an accurate...

Mass Effect - "the" Xbox360 title to get

takyris answered all your questions well, but i'd like to add here that kneeling (clicking the left stick) dramatically reduces the cross-hair shaking effect. It's Accuracy that affects this, by the way, so anyway you can increase your Accuracy will have an effect, whether it's a more accurate...

    PC, Xbox 360 or PS3?

On the whole "free stuff on the XBL Marketplace" front, to celebrate Live's 5-year anniversary, Carcassone is free to download today and tomorrow. So go download it now! :D

    PC, Xbox 360 or PS3?

I agree on both counts; Ultimate Destruction is an awesome game. (And the Xbox version is backwards compatible on the 360, so it's another one worth checking out.)

    PC, Xbox 360 or PS3?

I'll second Oblivion, Orange Box, Rainbow Six: Vegas and Dead Rising (haven't played the rest). I'd also add Crackdown to the mix; best surprise of the year, for me. Very fun.

    [October] What are you playing?

I'm just about to leave for GameStop to pick up Half Life 2: The Orange Box (Xbox 360) and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (PSP).

    Screenshots - Film Clips - Halo 3

When looking through your list of films, you can save them to your library by hitting X. For pics, hit X while viewing a film to bring up the command bar; the camera icon on the far left is what you're looking for.

    [September] What are you playing?

After playing the hell out of Bioshock and with a month to go before the major game deluge starts, i needed something to take up my time. With the Final Fantasy Tactics port and Dracula X Chronicles coming in October, and D&D Tactics out now, i, rather unhappily, purchased a PSP. Picked up...

    Bioshock

Aim assist does work, it's just a little touchy (or poorly implemented, as the case may be). You will automatically follow the target you're aiming at, but i think the trick is that any kind of movement on your part overrides the autoaim; you have to stand still for it to kick in. Which, you...

    Inspire Courage - weaponlike spells?

FWIW, the Sage recently ruled no on this. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ask/20070806a Personally, i disagree with him on this one.

    [August] What are you playing?

Finally picked up Shivering Isles for Oblivion and have been playing through that. Sheogorath's fun. The big one this month, though, is going to be Bioshock on the 21st. Can't freaking wait. I'm even going to be getting an HDTV (my first new TV in 10+ years :o) so that i can enjoy it...

Fortune Magazine: How Nintendo is beating Sony and Microsoft

This says otherwise. So, it's either 1. "We have no plans to drop the price on the PS3 at the moment (although we really do, we're just waiting until E3 to announce it);" or, 2. Circuit City is just trying to dump some of its PS3 stock with a sale. Normally, i'd say 1 is the most likely...

    [JULY] What are you playing?

Picked up Rainbow Six: Vegas (Xbox 360) a couple days ago and am loving it. It's put my replay of Gears of War on hold. Just finished Puzzle Quest (DS) two nights ago, but i'm really hesitant to start a new character with a different class; the AI is a little too... "lucky" for my taste...

    [June] What are you playing

I wasn't a huge fan of Saint's Row (it made quite a few improvements to the GTA formula, but remained frustratingly stagnant in the large part), but i had an absolute blast with the Insurance Fraud minigame. Ridiculously simple, but endlessly fun.

Bo9S - Initiator Level of multi class character

I realize we've kind of gotten past this, but... Thanks to Complete Champion, barbarian pretty much wins this one, now. The 1st-level Lion Totem substitution ability trades fast movement for... pounce. Unconditional pounce. Yeesh. :\

Lost 2/23/07 Season Finale w/ spoilers

I called the whole flash-future thing during the first one, on the bridge. That said, the scene were Jack mentions his father seemed like a 'Jack's completely losing it' bit to me; the other doctor gives him a rather pitying look and Jack says something to the effect of "don't give me that...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #6 is Up

But why would it? Preview 7 shows that grabbing in Saga is no where near as crippling as grappling is in the current rules/3.5; a droideka is far better off just blazing away with its dual auto cannons. Worse, by initiating a grab, it's putting itself in danger of its target pulling off the...

Star Wars Saga Edition [SECR] Preview #6 is Up

And considering the fact that anyone can shut down a droid with a Mechanics check while it is grabbed, it seems to me that a high grapple modifier would be near-mandatory for a droid, if only for defensive purposes.
