In addition to damaging the sword, I'd say there are pretty good chances it would damage you as well. At minimum I'd say 1 point of fire damage per round for wielding such a weapon.

In regards to your Turn Undead Mechanic: I think the typical formula is 10 + 1/2 cleric level + cha mod. This will keep things more in line as your 20th level cleric has DCs of 25 rather than 35. Most undead have poor Will save iirc, so this will keep the saving throw from being a pretense...

They should probably begin with two powers. Playing a character for 3 levels with only a single power that you can use three-ish times per day would be rather dull. I would also suggest declaring what type of damage is inflicted (physical, force, fire, whatever). 1d1 round/level is the same...

To support General Barron here: Because you roll the d20 (or d666) so often, this will provide less randomness for the game. Granted each roll now just has different percentages of success, but over an entire combat you can be expected to average to 10.5 with more accuracy than a d20.
