    How tough are your adventures?

Solid 3 I want to make it challenging, but not impossible. I do feel that most excitement happens when the threat of character death is right around the corner.

Adventure Design Philosophy (was: Best D&D Adventures)

1ed modules IMO, the newer modules by Paizo, Necro, Malhavoic WotC, etc provide for a deeper playing experience than what as in the early modules. The newer modules tend to be bigger with more detail. For example take Necro's Vault of Larin Karr. It is a mini campaign with a combination of...

D&D 4e is pure win and I'll tell you why...

1 word - Cookies! I probably can not convince my wife to play any edition, but she does make the group cookies! I think that's a net win for me!

    Monster Fluff

Paizo - Classic Monsters Revisited I would take a look at Paizo's Classic Monsters Revisited book that was released several months ago. It is very good and it is almost 100% fluff...very little crunch.

Pathfinder OGL/3.5 RPG system from Paizo

Great News! Quite the bold move for Paizo! I am very excited about the news. It feels like paizo has really positioned themselves well. Pathfinder will basically be using a 3.75 rule set and Necro will be their 4th ed brand. Sign me up!

Monte's 3.75? (A sequal is on its way)

New stuff from Monte It will be interesting to see how Monte's stuff compares to 4th ed. PDF's are inexpensive, so count me in :)

The Best & Worst of 3rd Edition: SINGLE BEST Product of 3rd edition (poll closed)

Pathfinder There are a lot of great products on the list. I went with Pathfinder, but Ptolus & ToH are both excellent products and close runners up.

CoB :) It was waiting for me when I arrived back from GenCon. I have only taken a brief look, and it is massive! Can't wait to dig in. :) Case, I would really enjoy reading through the play test reports. You do need to share! PS....Ari's DoL is awesome!

What do you think of Modrons?

Cartoonish I like the idea, but the artwork kills it for me. They will probably not make my cut list. :\

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

end of an era :( Bummer..... Well, like a lot of folks on the board, I grew up on Dragon, and I have a lot of fond memories of reading through it. The mag was not just another fan mag, but it really seemed like part of the game itself. It very much seems like a good friend has moved away...

Just got the CD with issues 1-250; What is best, IYNSHO?

Issue 42 A couple of my favorites: 1) Issue 42 - Just a great issue 2) Fiction by Roger Moore. Day of the Dwarf is a great read 3) Issues 75 & 76 A lot of the early Dragons came with adventures. Some of these are rather good.

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Fineous Fingers That was a great comic. However many he did, it was not enough. My gaming group always looked forward to reading his latest stuff.

    Ptolus, where's the grab?

The detail was the grab for me I have put Ptolus in the FR setting, and it is working out great. The party has not left the city (yet), but there is more than enough to do to keep them there. I like the fact that it is generic, which makes it really easy to add my own flavor to it, and drop...
