Jetison the power system and use page 42 only

I'm in agreement with Jstomel - my players LOVE getting new powers and they also love figuring out how to synergize them together to create exciting "one-two" punches that devastate a monster. IMO, 4e powers offers a level of tactical combat that is superior to all other versions of D&D. If...

    Monster Healing Surges

But you could add a power to a minion that could grant X hp healing at the cost of a healing surge, so long as a successful healing check is made- sort of a psuedo-second wind then, and the monster still gets to use a surge to get back hp.

Holy Implement restricted to its God?

It's kinda ironic, with modern players worrying about which god to pray to - because ancient peoples in a pantheistic rarely devoted themselves to a single god or goddess. Priests might be a votary of a particular god, but that wouldn't stop them from "consulting" another god in the pantheon if...

Shouldn't Monsters Recharge at End of Turn?

I agree - it's much easier to just roll the recharge right before the monster attmpts to use it - much less bookkeeping and it's fun watching my Players hold their breath as I pick up the dice and tell them that the monster is trying to refresh X power - which they had already had used on them...

    D&D 4E 4e Deck of Many Things

Personally, I have no problem with it not being "high-risk high reward" - I like the concept of the Deck of Many Things, but I've actually seen older Edition campaigns come to a crashing halt from a few bad pulls from the deck. So I'd rather have the Deck be weaker and fun rather than Campaign...

Simpler Treasure System with (mostly) Random Loot

I too have started using this house rule - the economics are sound and my players really think the change is for the better. They actually prefer random loot to "wish lists"!

    House Rule: Dialects

Well, in some rare cases, I suppose that an accent would make things easier - but prejudice is alot more rampant than instant acceptance, espcially in a feudalistic world where outsiders are truly outsiders. Personally, I'm a sucker for a british or irish accent - I give a +2 bonus modifier to...

    House Rule: Dialects

I think the dialect idea is a valid one, particularly with Skill Challenges. I like the simple "first time rule" recommended by Starfox, but a more complex system could have farther reaching effects. There are certain prejudices that occur when one group hears a dialect or accent that could...

    Review - Remarkable Races

I've just posted a review of Remarkable Races by Alluria Publishing on my blogsite. It has alot of good ideas in it, but I'm not sure it's what a lot of D&D Players and DMs are looking for in a 4e campaign. You can check out the link here: Review - Remarkable Races by Alluria Publishing
