This is not something that would happen. Even if WotC decided to send a cease and desist letter to ENworld over hosting fan content, all that would happen would be that ENworld would remove the content (and WotC would earn some ill will in the fan community).

People have been using RPGs (including D&D) to tell stories as far back as the early 80s, and this play style has always been supported by the rules, printed GM and player advice, etc. I don't see much point in creating new definitions for words that don't match up to commonsense usage.

The opposite of "sandbox" isn't "railroad," it's "event-driven." A properly run event-driven adventure hinges on specific events beyond the players' control and then adapts to their choices and actions.

It feels like folks are using the word "kill" when they should say "drop". In the games I run, PCs frequently drop below 0 hp during combats, but they are then healed. Do you guys just roll new characters as soon as a PC hits 0 hp?
