    D&D (2024) Chance for a warlord?

I don't think healing should be the focus. My prefer is warlords being a "special extra action" battery. One action is you spending you HD for healing. Another is an attack. Another is a cantrip.

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

My point is that the majority of 5e fans are new fans. They aren't used to older editions when TSR and WOTC used to make classes with totally different paradigms and a party and DM were supposed to manage learning several DOZENS of fiddly bits anytime a DM allowed a new book. This ain't the...

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

No most. WOTC says the majority of the surveys state the majority of 5e fans started with 5e. The Pre3e fans mostly ditched it. And many 3e fans went to Pathfinder. You still have to look at the powers list to choose your powers and thus you have to read them . A noticeable amount of people...

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

That literally happens. Some people don't convert because they don't want to learn the new spells. Most of 5e fans started with 5e. So they took the 350+ effect plunge and some say no more. Some don't even both to learn ANYTHING not on their character sheet. Big powers lists is a hard spell.

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

We are thinking the same T 9-10 powers with 3-4 effects each. Or 5-6 powers at 3-4 effects each and 10-12 powers with 1-2 effects each.

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

I mean 35+ effects. 9-10 effects at 3-4 tiered power ranks. Or 5-6 effects at 3-4 tiered power ranks and 10-12 assorted psionic effects. 100+ effects is being greedy and just asked for imbalance.

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

I'd want a minimum of 9 base effects for psionics. 9 effect x 4 tiers of play = 36 total effects. You could maybe cut down 2-3 as damage and healing are just numbers go up.

D&D (2024) Psionics: What Do You Want?

WOTC doesn't think they can balance a new subsystem against Spell & Slots and Extra Attacks and knows that if they did, a plurality of the customer base would not want to learn 35+ new features.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Because Dark Sun is edgy and unserious about serious topics and it doesn't trust someone going viral on social media with their new release being offensive while they are unserious about serious topics. A cursed live play.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

It's not doom and gloom. It's literally 5-6 years out. But WOTC's D&D sales will dip in 5-6 years if they don't produce something big and new because they'll run out of big old ideas to reintroduce. There are only 3-4 old official base classes and 2-4 old official settings that can drive book...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

There's nothing wrong with playing the hits. The issue is hitting the same city too often. Outside of their hometowns, bands don't hit the same city in short time. FR, Eberron, Strahd. Those are the D&D band member's hometowns. The locals will pay to see those everytime and sell out...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I'll tell why I think that. They are out of fresh popular ideas from the past to pull from. 5e creatively is sourced in bringing up the past's greastest hits. And it's one Volume #4. Rereleasing what was printed already which is technically compatible is not going move numbers. The only...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I wish a Dreamplane or Mindscape being a "core" plane which could be another option for psionics.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I think many people wonder rather trust something as big as a class is heavily playtested or come from a decently trusted source before they inject it into their games. And with psionics' history, I don't blame weariness on that side.

D&D General Lego Sandbox vs Open Sandbox (and other sandbox discussion)

Neither The PCs don't choose an adventure or go with the flow. I endpoints and have the paths grow from the end. And it's up to the PCs to avoid the paths they don't want. It's like a sandbox morphing into 3 or more railroads and it's up to the PCs to break the tracks.

D&D 5E Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

Nah Subduing and restraining targets would be an aspect of rangers. But rangers are traditional hunters of wild monsters, encroaching villains, or barbaric raiders. They are killing their quarries or scaring them off. That bandit or hill giant is getting their throat slit.

D&D 5E Convince me that the Ranger is a necessary Class.

The Ranger skill list is: Animal Handling, Athletics, Insight, Investigation, Nature, Perception, Stealth, or Survival. I'd add Medicine since Rangers are known for healing. And there are 4 tiers of play. So that's 36 different rituals, knacks, or spells I would have attributed to being a...
