    D&D 5E Fan work policy?

WotC's fan work policy is to hire D&D fans, turn them into professionals and dump them once a new edition has been released.

    D&D 5E magic items prices

I don't think we'll get an Eberron book, which kinda solves the problem.

Gold won't help you for that. You don't need gold. Just don't pick up gold when you find it lying around in dungeons, it will only slow you down.

    D&D 5E Race-Class Combinations

... or to embrace an atypical career. That's just one more choice.

    D&D 5E Race-Class Combinations

Just because some classes are usually associated with some races isn't reason enough to impose the kind of limitations we're talking about here, in my opinion. Quite the opposite, really. PCs are supposed to stand out, they are extraordinary individuals who face challenges that most people can't...

D&D 5E Light release schedule: More harm than good?

I get what you mean, and I agree to some extant. But what I want is a splatbook. If I get the choice between some kind of free web content and an adventure that I won't use bundled with the same content, I will not get what I want. Which is alright, I guess, but it probably means that 5e D&D is...

D&D 5E Light release schedule: More harm than good?

Now that's just like telling your wife that she doesn't need new shoes because she can look at pictures of shoes online.

D&D 5E Light release schedule: More harm than good?

Well, I just enjoy buying sourcebooks and I'm disappointed, you know. I think it's something anyone can understand. I'm not buying modules so it looks like 0 books a year to me, which is, um, not what I would consider optimal.

    D&D 5E Which non-Realmsian setting for you?

I voted Eberron and Mystara but frankly I don't expect to see any setting book released for 5e.

[UPDATED] Has ADVENTURER'S HANDBOOK Been Cancelled?

This whole thing has considerably cooled off my enthusiasm for 5e. I enjoy the three books we've got, but I'm not interested in any adventure path or module and now I don't expect to buy anything more from Wizards. I guess Monte Cook will get my RPG money.

    D&D 5E The Adventurer's Handbook Speculation Thread

Is that an actual thing that people buy? I can't imagine that my players would have been interested in that.

    D&D 5E The Adventurer's Handbook Speculation Thread

A guidebook for PCs? That sounds like DM material to me, and not something I would expect (or want) to see in a book called "Adventurer's Handbook"

D&D 5E Halflings Of The Corn

Was Lidda the 3e Halfling girl? She looked exactly like a human being, didn't she? I'm sure one could come up with something more distinctive than that.

D&D 5E WotC will not allow translation of D&D NEXT.

The French version didn't fail to sell, it was one of the best-selling RPG of all time in France. It failed to reach the publisher's expectations, however.

D&D 5E Halflings Of The Corn

While you're right, I think one could use the same adjectives to describe Gnomes. As it stands, I don't see why Halflings are not a Gnome subrace.
  16. The Mirrorball Man

D&D 5E Halflings Of The Corn

It seems to me that, as a race, Halflings are defined by what they are not: not Hobbits, not Gnomes, not Kenders. You really have to wonder what they are all about, what's their hook, what sets them apart. I don't think that WotC really has found a satisfactory answer to that.

But do you feel that your language simply cannot be used in certain contexts, such as roleplaying games? Most RPG terms are rather straightforward, "Reaction" is a good example. Why would it feel weird to use the Danish word?

Really? Is Danish your native language? How does it work then? Do you just play in English or do you switch from English to Danish every now and then?

D&D 5E Halflings Of The Corn

Thanks to this thread, now I too see Halflings as creatures that "look like they kidnap babies and live under your house", and I want to play one. :)
