    Midnight and Advance shows/releases

First time I remember doing it was for the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson version of "Batman" which was what, 1989 or so? I don't even remember many movies before that having a midnight showing on a Thursday before opening on a Friday. That was fun. A few years back, I challenged my daughter...

Yes, it does. No more question on whether or not Beth is alive. And, it looks like they not only get out of the railroad car prison, but they join forces with the Termites...

    D&D 5E Setting/adventures by Paizo, rules/mechanics by Wizards

I was able to run some Paizo adventure paths using 4E rules (Rise of the Runelords & Kingmaker). So, I assume 5E would be fairly do-able as well. 4E did take some work to convert, and I had used some online conversions as a starting point. So, I was ahead of the game there, but I did do a...

    D&D 5E Katana in 5th edition - finesse?

I remember playing a sci-fi RPG many years back and one guy's PC wielded what I think was a mono-filament katana, or something like that? Basically, could cut through just about anything

    D&D 5E Katana in 5th edition - finesse?

It's kind of a running joke online that the katana is an almost mythic weapon barely short of the lighsaber in terms of desirability and sheer awesomeness.

    D&D 5E Just a reality check.

well said - one of the best role players I've ever gamed with (gaming since the late 70s) was also a big powergamer and rules lawyer (lawyer IRL, too). But, if you wanted a PC to argue the party's case before a hostile elf noble or the bandit leader that just captured the party, he could give...

    D&D 5E Katana in 5th edition - finesse?

wrong, the katana needs to be at least 6d4 slashing, bludgeonging or piercing, versatile (12d4). It also grants a +4 shield bonus due to its awesomeness, and allows its wielder the ability to fly at twice their foot speed twice per day.

    D&D 5E Just a reality check.

I'm skipping over a bunch of pages of replies here but the same was true when 2e came out as well. I remember when it came out there were a bunch of angry letters to the editor in Dragon Magazine from grumpy gamers who thought it was just a big money grab and that 2e dumbed down the game too...

D&D 5E Lost Mine of Phandelver (pretty much the worst adventure title in the history of D&D)

What about the old edition module "Lost Island of Castanamir" (not sure on the spelling - the name just stuck in my head)

    D&D 5E Humorous disclaimer in D&D Basic

Thanks - I've never even casually perused a copy of Tomb of Horrors in any edition, and I've been a player or DM since the late 70s.

    D&D 5E Humorous disclaimer in D&D Basic

That is a good one. I'm sure they're D&D references all, but I'm not sure where they're from other the the hill giant stedding
