D&D 5E hypothetical - a giant capturing downed pc's while rest of party fights on? rule for this

I agree with the majority that picking up an inanimate object (which I consider unconscious PCs) does not require a roll. However, you still need to make attack rolls (see DMG 246-7) against inanimate objects as they have could have armor or some amount of hardness that prevents automatic damage.

    D&D 5E Experience with a bladesinger?

Exactly, the melee classes have access to damage boosting abilities (which wizards have almost none of), and taking an attack action is what they do best. A 14th+ level wizard has way better options than tossing out a couple of basic attacks. Sure those two attacks are better than the typical...

    Fellow player fudging rolls

OP here. I decided to shoot the GM an e-mail suggesting a rule that we roll out in the open. Plus, I'm going to "show-off" my custom made dice tower at the next session. Is this non-confrontational? Yeah, but this guy is pretty defensive in addition to being a good friend and a coworker with...

    Fellow player fudging rolls

Heh. I like this too, but being that confrontational with this guy would probably be pretty messy. Anyway, I was just thinking about suggesting to the GM that he could just have a no laptops on the table rule. People being distracted by the Internet is kind of a problem in the game too, so...

    New campaign help...

You might take a look at the graphic novel The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It mainly focuses on Victorian age literary heroes, but makes them "super" in a comic book way. Or you could just watch the movie (*shudder*) too I guess.

    Fellow player fudging rolls

Thanks for the replies. I thought about just asking him to stop but he is very touchy and defensive in general, and I am 99% certain that asking him would result in a flat denial and hurt feelings. Then when I tell the GM, who then makes a change in the policies, this player would (correctly)...

    Fellow player fudging rolls

I'm in a weekly gaming group with a fellow player that regularly fudges his rolls and it is getting on my nerves. Generally he rolls his dice behind his laptop screen with dice that are difficult to read, but since I sit next to him I can still catch him from time to time. The GM seems oblivious...

    All Bets Are Off

I have a question regarding the secondary attack of All Bets Are Off from the Pit Fighter paragon path. Do all the normal bonuses (enhancement on weapon, weapon focus, proficiency) apply? What about when you use a bloodclaw weapon? Can you apply the damage bonus again? If so, you pay the hp...
