D&D 5E Help With My Dark Sun One-shot

I get alert emails very erratically from this site, sorry. But I am definitely using some of those ideas!

D&D 5E Help With My Dark Sun One-shot

Oh thank god! I've already pillaged 4E for some cool psionic powers for their 5E characters. I wanted to eschew what seems to be the normal attitude toward psionics in Dark Sun which is "non-casters gain normal spells." I wanted psionics to feel A: different than spells and 4E-style powers fit...

D&D 5E Help With My Dark Sun One-shot

I've played in three Dark Sun games over two editions and they were all very different. None of these guys have even heard of Dark Sun, they've only played in one D&D game before it was FR and I'm pretty sure apart from their GM they couldn't have told you which setting they were in. Hopefully...

D&D 5E Help With My Dark Sun One-shot

I've got a couple of weeks, I don't mind doing time to give them options. I can't imaging "wander around making con checks" would be one of them. :D But "Hey here's a map and there are three locations on it," and I've got content ready for all them (this is a simplistic example) in on the table...

    Really Nice Papercraft Terrain?

Looking for some really nice looking papercraft terrain, specifically a fantasy Inn/Tavern with a big interior. The more classic-looking the better. It seems like there's just a ton of papercraft stuff out there, most of it free and of that I saw, not very awesome. I don't mind spending money...

D&D 5E Crystal Ball: A year in, how do you think 5E will unfold going forward?

The thing I like about this model is that it seems like WotC have figured out the game is the thing that happens at the table. If you make that successful, you will have a successful brand. Whereas almost every other iteration, "success" relied on LOTS of content every year, because so many...

D&D 5E Help With My Dark Sun One-shot

I'm running D&D for a group of friends who I don't normally get to hang out with in person and I want to make it epic and memorable. We're going to play once, so I don't need a ton of content, but we may play for 10 hours and I want to give them some freedom. I'm looking for ideas, resources on...

    D&D 5E D&D Spellbook Cards are Back

Where can I go to order these and be sure I'm getting the new ones? I find a lot of sites that say "Low stock" and so I wonder if they just haven't run out of the first printing. Even the GF9 site says that.

HOARD OF THE DRAGON QUEEN on FANTASY GROUNDS

It's the entire adventure, text and all. Plus extras like player and DM versions of the maps, with grids on.

HOARD OF THE DRAGON QUEEN on FANTASY GROUNDS

You're not going to see an iPad version unless or until they rewrite the entire thing in Unity. Which they've talked about doing. Fantasy Grounds is a huge hack, the guys working on it now are not the guys who originally wrote it (as far as I remember) and they've talked about redoing the whole...

HOARD OF THE DRAGON QUEEN on FANTASY GROUNDS

This is super good news. I often create modules from published adventures and then just use FG on my Surface at the table. The Combat Tracker functionality alone is worth it.

D&D 5E Boing Boing reviews Princes of the Apocalypse and calls it D&D's killer app.

ToEE has an amazing reputation for such an awfully written and poorly designed adventure.

    D&D 5E Converting Nazin Redthorn to 5E

I'm new to 5E and sort of missing 4E (though happy to switch) and I'm having a hard time switching gears. Nazin Redthorn is the bad guy of Reavers of Harkenwold. He's a 5th level Elite Human Soldier (Leader). How do I best represent this dude, the Boss of the adventure, in 5E? I was thinking...

D&D 5E Polygon plays D&D using Fantasy Grounds VTT

Yep. I don't know what the issue there is, they don't seem to think "drawing maps" is important. They seem to expect you to draw what you want in MS Paint or GIMP or whatever and then bring it into FG, but that is not a practical solution.

D&D 5E Jury duty still ongoing...

Hasbro owns WotC, they don't run WotC. They can tell WotC what to do, and WotC has to do it, but they don't pay attention to things like price points or contracts between WotC and the people they work with.

FANTASY GROUNDS Virtual Tabletop's D&D License!

This is something I think needs some work as a feature. Right now the pencil tool has one thickness, no snap-to-grid (as far as I know) and no way to change the color. I end up doing things in Photoshop which I am not proficient in.

FANTASY GROUNDS Virtual Tabletop's D&D License!

I mean, don't get me wrong, I bought the whole thing, but I also typically run big adventures. Night Below, The Banewarrens, Red Hand of Doom. Each of these focuses on two or three monster categories. So it would be reasonable to buy the ones I need and have enough monsters for months of gaming.

FANTASY GROUNDS Virtual Tabletop's D&D License!

Because you're going to play a Wizard. I think most people, I think the vast majority of players pay for the whole Player's Handbook but only ever use a handful of classes from it. If they could get the content they actually use, cheaper, why wouldn't they?

FANTASY GROUNDS Virtual Tabletop's D&D License!

I've spend a few score hours in FG running 4E and let me tell you, I don't think people really understand how much of 4E was designed, from the ground up, to be played on a VTT. But once you play via FG2 with all the data you realize how much better the game is this way and you understand what a...
